Rd20: Parra v Penrith GAME DAY THREAD @ Commbank 29/7/22

I also noticed something interesting last night our 2 dummy halves who ironically played in the last 2 GFs parramatta has played in 2001 & 2009.

Brad Drew and Kevin Kingston are either both on the Penrith coaching staff or currently working for them in some capacity.

Does anyone know what role those 2 guys have at Penrith.
They teach their hooker to run the ball. Wish our hooker could do the same. So slow.

Did you see the way he was playing before his latest knee injury? Hardly inspiring stuff or great composure. He was over playing his hand and was actually baulking their fluency in attack. Lets hope I'm wrong and he does bring a positive balance to the team and hopefully relatively free of injury too.
His running game has dropped off but he can still kick, pass and read a game. He can still defend well. Last year was close to career best, at least statistically: https://www.nrl.com/players/nrl-premiership/raiders/josh-hodgson/

And at least while his knee is healing this year he isn't breaking anything else. It's very exciting.

Mate they put overlaps on us. But ignore that and live in ox dumb bliss.
Why wouldn't they? We use a compressed defence. They were one man down, not four or five. You're talking like it should've been a training run for us. Massive sense of entitlement.

Looks like Panthers are not the only team from last night's game that will be without their half-back for the next few weeks.....oh the irony

No it wasn't. They are Penrith ffs. The only reason we got to 30 was because they panicked ("The harder they tried the worse they got"). Halftime reset them. We would only have belted them if they gave up.

Mate you think they are the Raiders or Bronco of the 90's or the Storm of the Salary cap rorting era. They are just a well drilled and fit team with an couple of excellent players that can ball play and one of them was missing for most of the game.

We had close to 70% of the ball in the first half and they were knacked. All we needed to do was come out with a similar approach to the first half and they would have cracked right open by the 60-65 min. Instead we started ok for the first couple of minutes then dropped right off in intensity and they eventually started to grow in confidence and even found ways to create overlaps on us ffs and eventually out scored us.

Now if you don't see that as a complete capitulation then sorry we see the game in a totally different way.
