should we be ticked off with newton

Doesn't change the fact he was put in a position that FORCED him to look at other options outside of the club. He IS a clubman, and would have played out the rest of his career at the Knights if he was given the opportunity. But when he is not even shown appreciation from the club, or offered...

should we be ticked off with newton

I think people on this forum found it easier to just jump on the "I hate Newton" bandwagon after he left rather than face the quality we had lost. And those people are the ones who are as stupid as razor (whoever that is). When Smith found out about intrest in Newton from other clubs, he...

should we be ticked off with newton

Newton's Fault? f*** oFF. He was put in a position by Smith, who told him to leave. Of course he packed up and left the club to PURSUE HIS CAREER, what else could he do when put in that position? Newton is a clubman. You won't find a more team-oriented bloke. He would have liked nothing...

should we be ticked off with newton

wtf? Newton left because he couldn't get along with SMITH. Not because he wanted to abandon his team mates. Why should he tuff it out here with Smith and be held back from his future career? This is Smith's fault not Newton's. This is what Smith does. He does crazy things to change cultures...

Who would you like to see?

In order of preference: Cross Naiqama Kimmorley Whatuira Donnelly

    Good luck to him

Newton keen to win premiership at Storm

All players say that when they join a new club, it's part of the commitment to his new teammates and coach. He handled the questions about Smith very well, as we all know Smith is the reason he left.

should we be ticked off with newton

Jeez, what's with all the Newton-haters all of a sudden? Some blokes on this forum are so double-minded when it comes to things like this. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Newton was no SBW or Ben Kennedy, but he was there for us week-in, week-out. He was a clubman who held the pack...

    Injuries 07

Kidley's return is set for round 15 according to the Knights website.

    Hannay for centre

I've always been a Hannay fan. Sign him up now if he is available. There's our goalkicker for sure.

    Knights Team Vs Roosters

I hope the Doogs brothers play on the same side of the field together. Hoepfully they will develope a stong combination. Drop Tighe and put Vuna in the side. Hinton at fullback is good. I hope Sargent gets the run over Tanner/Young.

    Fullback

OK, so it's pretty much confirmed that Kidley is gone fore 12 weeks. That would take it to round 22, so he may only play another 2-3 games before the season is over. Now is the opportunity to train up a second fullback for FG duty. We have used Hinton in the past, and are using Gordon right now...

    Brian Smith

Great post Engine. The thing with Brian Smith is he doesn't give a s*** about what fans or players think. He will do whatever he sees fit to bring success to the club. He will make selection decisions that will make Knight fans pull their hair out. But compared to "laid back" Hages, he will...

    Willie Tonga?

I doubt we are going to go out there and spend big bucks on 4-5 backs. We already have Luke MacDougall from the Dragons, and I would say Kidley and McManus are fixtures for now. For me it comes down to maybe one more back: Tonga/Naiqama/Utai/Tate and spend the rest on a quality prop.

Clint Newton, This Is Your Thread

Apparently he is not the only unhappy camper at the Knights right now. Sports Tonight mentioned a "disagreement" with Brian Smith as his reason. Alot of my mates shake their head and say: "That's Brian Smith for ya". I just hope he knows what he is doing by telling one of our best "you are...

    Newcastle Knights Signings/Re-signings thread

Saw the confimation on Sports Tonight yesterday. Would much rather see Mad Pup playing for us than Gordon, Tighe, or Polglase.

    Team Vs Roosters

I think there will be a couple of basic changes, but nothing more: 1. Polglase: has shown he is more than capable at the back 2. McManus: his perormance, particularly in defence, is getting better each week 3. MacDougall: neither here nor there, but his experience does make a difference 4...

Smith gets a good look at the future

Gordon missed 9 tackles. I hate to think that's our back-up quality.

Knights v Broncos @ Suncorp * WARNING CONTAINS SPOILERS*

This has probably already been said, but: I would rather lose by 60 points and actually see some changes made in the side. By getting rid of the deadwood. Than to lose by 10 and see a similar side run out next week.

The Cleanout That Needs to Happen

If the Naiqama/Mad Pup rumors are true, at least we are taking some steps with our backline. Cooper Vuna looked dangerous in his dummy-half runs but just couldn't make the break. Mullen needs support in the kicking game area too. Tighe was the only other player to put in a half decent kick...
