    Potential expansion to Monaco?

There have previously been teams in Cannes and Marseille (they made a couple of cup finals in the 70s). Former Australian international Wally Fullerton-Smith played a season or two with Cannes in the early 90s and the club had two seasons in the top flight during this decade. Sadly not sure...

Will Super league end up being a feeder comp to the NRL?

Is that also the case with union teams dropping away also? I'd think also the growth and glamour of the Premier League would be luring young kids also.

Will Super league end up being a feeder comp to the NRL?

I wonder if this has something to do with union going pro in the mid 90s, that source of decent player has now all but dried up.

    Welcome to the comp, Redcliffe.

L You could probably throw the Roosters in here as well as they were on the verge of merging in 1998 now they are a powerhouse.

RIP one of the best refs ever

RIP Fred...I remember him doing the 1982 series between Australia and NZ. He blew 47 penalties in the first test and yes you guessed it, the Aussies whinged!!

    David Oxley

He grew the game from a very low point in the 70s. He was a great administrator also was on special comments on TV where his knowledge and enthusiasm for the game came through. RIP

Read Steve Mascords Discord column today no.1 of 13 issues that will be interesting to follow in 2023 was this about St Pete 1. Will Peter V’landys see out the year? The NRL chairman has enemies - you just don’t read about them because the newspapers in Australia are owned by the same companies...

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

True, in my experience kiwis love the all blacks...however there is the potential that they can follow both codes particularly with the younger generation as they dont have that sporting bigotry the older ones have similar to what has happened in Melbourne.

Why didn't the AFL experience a super league war?

Just as Packer did in the 70s when he wanted cricket on nine. Was a similar game plan.

Why didn't the AFL experience a super league war?

Before super league we got that market however after years of destroying the games image we have lost that market.

Why didn't the AFL experience a super league war?

Yes...I do remember that game, though I watched it in Australia so didnt have the fortune of seeing the boat race thankfully. Steve Roach played in that game for Warrington maybe also Les Davidson and Phil Blake.

Also I think the relationship has changed and as much as we dont like it we are now partners with fox as V'landys has said many times. They have a say in what happens sadly.
