Hunt has asked for a release

Something tells me this story has calmed, but only until the end of the season. Hard to know who and what to believe, but Chammas said last night that Hunt had not asked for a release for the remainder of this season, it was more about wanting out at the end of 2023. At least by doing that...

    Zach Herring

I think the one to watch now is Benjamin Rumble, who was listed in the Jersey Flegg team last weekend as fullback. He is tall and can motor. His try against the Storm showed that. He is also very athletic. Fairly sure it his brother Toby who played in the winning Illawarra under 18s team this...

Dragons 22 d Storm 12 in the Jersey Flegg played today.

    The Rumours Thread

Flanagan has already said he has commenced recruitment discussions with players for next season. The way the Nrl works it will not take long before the rumours about new signings hit the media outlets. I also like his comment that included the word "poaching" of players also for 2024...

    Warriors at the Gong.

Well with the talk of the Chad, Townsend that is, coming our way after Hunt is released, I am also hoping we pick up at least one edge forward prior to the August cut off for signing new players for 2023. Toby Couchman I feel may get another look in towards the back end of the season, but short...

    The Rumours Thread

I really hope if the Townsend story is true it does not get Bud Sullivan offside again. Hoping any deal for Townsend would only be for the rest of 2023 and maximum 2024.

KOE (ex Canterbury Cup) and Jersey Flegg

Dragons were down 16-6 at half time, so in a very positive sign, kept the Warriors score less in the 2nd half. Did not think I would post the following comment this year, but after watching Stewart play last Sunday, I would be okay to see him picked at fullback, with Sloan to the wing for Feagai...

KOE (ex Canterbury Cup) and Jersey Flegg

Dragons leading 18-16 with just under 5 minutes to play according to the NSWRL website. (Not sure if the website's clock has stopped or has frozen) Along with Fifita, also no Treigh Stewart playing today.

    SpoonWatch 2023

I posted here a little while back that the fight for the spoon could well be decided when we play Wests early next month. Looking at the draw, I cannot see many wins for either team between now and the end of the season.

    Warriors at the Gong.

Dragons completion rate of 67% giving the Warriors possession of 58% to 42% in the first half. Any decent team knows if you complete high you will be in most matches. It is such a basic fundamental of the game. Hold onto the football Dragons and give yourself a chance and take away some of the...

Hunt has asked for a release

I would like to think Flanagan is smart enough to make sure the Dragons come away with a suitable result for us if Hunt is released early. 1 August is still over a month away, so plenty of time to nut out a good deal. My preference is a quality player, or players, I think 2 would suffice for...

    Warriors at the Gong.

Adam Gee the referee for our game on Friday night. This bloke as a rule generally canes us in the penalties, and forget about many of the 50/50 calls going our way. Just another hurdle we need to jump to get the job done against the Warriors.

    Zach Herring

Only issue with Herring is his defence needs to improve to go up to first grade football. He was found out a few times last Sunday against fairly average opposition. His kicking and passing game, and organising skills seem to be always improving. I like the suggestion I read here a while back...

KOE (ex Canterbury Cup) and Jersey Flegg

My apologies @KogarahWarrior. I checked the team lists when I got to the ground and I am sure Laurie was listed as the number 1. The player listed now, Ogden, was very solid behind a well beaten team.

KOE (ex Canterbury Cup) and Jersey Flegg

Was also at Lidcombe Oval today for the first time in around 35/40 years. Still looks pretty much the same as my last visit. I have a fairly similar view as @TheRev regarding our KOE squad. Today, Finau (winger), Lobb, Herring and Stewart were all solid. There was a strong breeze blowing...

    The Rumours Thread

Further to this morning's Telegraph report by Rothfield, it was also confirmed by Dean Ritchie on the Big Sports Breakfast show earlier this morning. Zorba then gave his view that this will be a big first up test for Flanagan, but Zorba's view is Flanagan will lay down the law and tell Hunt he...

    The Rumours Thread

Anyone feeling a bit of deja vu following the news that Ryles would be the Dragon"s head coach in 2024?? So much of what gets reported in the NRL is nothing more than gossip leading to click bait based on speculation.

Hunt has asked for a release

Apparently the story has originated from Weidler. If it is true, my guess would be a return home to Queensland with the Titans. Rumoured to have offered him $900K a season. Still speculation until there is a statement from the club or player, or both.

    New recruits for 2023

If we do release Kerr, we can still hang onto him at the latest until round 22 after we have played Manly at WIN on Saturday 29th July in the 5.30pm game. As long as we are out of spoon territory by then I would have no issue in moving him on early. Just on new recruits, if the Rooster's...
