Preston? The bloke who played with us for a few seasons and then f**ked off to Penrith because Anderson wouldn't let him play halfback and then went to clubs were he was a five eighth/fullback? Give me a spell.
You apparently know f*ck all about your club's history.

Try; the tiny bloke who was the incumbent Sharks halfback and current Dally M medal winner (over Andrew Johns) who got promised first chance to retain his position at halfback under the new coach Chris Anderson. He gave Preston half a game in a trial then moved him to hooker so he could parachute Noddy in.
So Opes puts the smallest player in the comp to play at hooker at a time when the best number nines were making 50 tackles a game. Preston was getting smashed six ways to Sunday every week, so asked for a release which Anderson couldn't give him fast enough. He went to Panthers at halfback and won a comp with them the next year.

Casting shade at Preston just shows you have no f*ckin' idea.

- First and foremost, Ashley Klein is a gimp. That Qld forward pass he called typified his game. There were two more obvious forward passes in that set he already let go, then the marginal one is the one he pulls up. WTF? He didn't favour NSW or Qld in particular, just overall rubbish. Hopefully Sutton replaces him for the rest of the series.
And don't forget the knock on to a player in an offside position that was called play on.

Gower was the halfback, with Preston at 6. The rest of your post is bang on.

dont forget Opes sticking him for his first game at fullback - against peak Andrew Johns who made him look like, well, a makeshift fullback.

Nathan Cleary is just Mitchell Pearce with more luck. What a f**king dud showing from the media’s best player in the game.

got heavy 2011 origin vibes out of last night when NSW got similarly trounced after thinking just picking the dragons team would guarantee victory.

lastly, who the f**k is Martin? Haven’t seen a bigger hack get thrown a rep jersey like that just because of who he plays for since Steve Simpson

Simpson was a fantastic player, get your hand off it.

yeah I remember he got 2 dally M points against the roosters once in a 32-8 loss. The reasoning was he made 28 tackles.

guy was a f**king log dining out off his actually good team mates’ ability

He never lost to the Roosters 32-8.

Looking through the Rugby League Annuals, in Round 9 2005 the Knights lost to the Roosters 32-2 and Simpson picked up 1 Dally M point. The Knights were missing 11 first grade regulars and hadn't won a game all season but only trailed at HT 4-2. They lost control in the second half especially once Buderus was sent to the sin-bin mid-way through the half.

I can't remember it but I'd imagine he was close to the best player on the park in the first half and was let down by his team mates in the second.

Unless you're thinking of a different game? This game also saw the debut of Soward after his historic Jersey Flegg season.

Regardless, Simpson was a quality player for the Blues that series. He punched holes through the middle of the Queensland defensive line and turned the momentum for the Blues.

Doubling down on your moronic original post. Very bold.

Luai is just a foil for Cleary, and is not a legit rep player. He even said last year that he was lost without Nate Dogg when he got injured. With the pressure that QLD was able to put on Nate, NSW need a 2nd long kicking option at 5/8. IMHO Raider opinion, Wighton needs to be shifted to 5/8 for the rest of the series. He's the 2nd best player in the state behind Cleary tbh. They need to form a halves combo.

Crichton needs to be dropped too. f**k Slothfield's stupid tremble-between-sentences opinion. Players shouldn't be selected for rep teams because of some "connection" they have with a better player who makes them look good at club level. For the most part, the best player in each position needs to be picked (with the odd freak picked out of position like Latrell)

I also agree with earlier posts saying that Martin needs to be dropped. The guy was a bench player last year and he got picked for rep footy. What part of the game is this?

I'd drop Matterson, Sims, RCG, Tupou and Staggs too.

So that's 8 guys they need to replace. Paulo is borderline as well.

Luai threw passes for 2 tries in Wed's game. And if you can be bothered to look back to last years series when Cleary and Luai tore up Qld, yet Teddy and Turbo got all the accolades by finishing off what Cleary and Luai started.

NSW lost by a solitary conversion. If Yeo had scored, we wouldn't be slashing our wrists. 2 games to go.

Craig Gower was the Panthers halfback during Campbell's time at Penrith.

Campbell was a five eighth when he went to Penrith then fullback at the Gold Coast.

You throw shade at me for allegedly not knowing my own f**king club's history but you're either too geniused or stupid to look at where he left and played at Penrith.

He was five eighth with captain Craig Gower at halfback.

Don't believe me, well take a look at the team lists from the 2003 NRL Grand Final. Guess where Campbell played? You guessed it five f**king eighth.

I'm no fan of Chris Anderson (it took us years to repair the damage that guy caused to the club) but any coach who has had success elsewhere brings their own players and staff in.
