What's funny is Cleary has won more series as a starting half for NSW than Johns.

Unless you score 2 or 3 tries and single handedly win the game you get torn to pieces by everyone if you're wearing blue.

wait, you are counting the 2019 series that Pearce won for us as a series victory for Cleary?

so Kimmorley was a series winning halfback in 2005 then?

bitch piss got carried and called up in game 3 only, to play against a team with corey norman and mbye. Cleary played 2 games, so yes the series goes to him over bitch piss.

series on the line Pearce came up with the precision cutout ball that put NSW away for the winning try.

series on the line in similar fashion last season Cleary got charged down after a panicked attempted chip kick and handed the win to the maroons.

Cleary is 7-7 through his first 14 games for NSW.

Pearce was 4-10

Do we reckon playing against Lockyer, Smith, JT, Cronk, Slater, Thurston and Inglis is more or less difficult than playing against Walsh, Ponga, Munster, DCE, Hunt, Brimson and Friend?

I often think the best player for the maroons is God. We had that game won with less than 10 minutes to go and then all these miraculous things suddenly happened for them. We need to get God on our side by being better people.

Let's support Freddie and the team. This is a good team they've selected. They've gotten rid of TPJ which is great and Hynes, unfortunately there just isn't a spot for him this year.

Let's see all the bounce of the ball and everything go our way this time.

Haumole Olakau'atu apparently has "God" on his side and he has a head like a sucked mango, so I'm not sure that it's worth it

NSW to downhill ski their way to the most rigged of victories to artificially keep the series alive.

I honestly hope they don’t though so the only game in NSW this year will be a dead rubber.

Nein and the NRL deserve that.

pearce carried the weight of attempting to lead NSW to victory against one of the most formidable sides ever put together in any sport on earth.

the only weight Cleary has to carry is his sizeable chin….

…. so actually Cleary might have it tougher than Pearce come to think of it

This is true. Pearce was the best half we had available and did his best. Can't ask for more than that. He was up against an exceptional Qld team. It's great he finally got a reward in his last game.

I would regard Cleary as a better player but I don't consider either of them as naturally gifted footballers.

Pearce won 1 series, because he steven bradbury'd in game 3

His origin career was a massive failure, and he was constantly picked, regardless of how shit he was at origin level.

You are not taking into account who he was up against. Who do you think could have done a better job in his place?

I watched Pearce's first game in Origin. He was sooo bad I was walking back to the hotel afterwards singing to myself that was the last we'll see of him. Boy was I wrong. That guy was never talented enough for Origin but NSW selected him year after year after year after year.

Pearce was always outclassed. Always. Should never have played one Origin game. Unless one wanted QLD to win that series.

Moses is such a weird selection, and definitely driven by Gus.

It would be hard for him to do any worse than Cleary did in game 1 though so it’s an upgrade and I’m ok with it.

We’re f**ked regardless though.

You have literally everything going for you. No need to make early excuses.

This. Cleary and Pearce have performed extremely similarly the Origin level.

Cleary was just lucky that his selection came around the time of the gradual retirement of the big 4 where they struggled a little to rebuild while Pearce had to play against them at their peak.
