This is pretty annoying to me because it reflects the current player welfare issue that the NRL is just choosing to ignore. Game is faster and more physical than ever but we expect players to play 24 games and some within 48 hours of each other? It's madness, of course players are going to break down.

There needs to be a real conversation around players workloads and the effect State of Origin has on what is supposed to be the 'main' competition.

20 teams in 2 conferences , 10 teams per conference, play each other twice. Top 4 play -offs with the remaining top 2 from each conference to play each other in a finals series for the right to play in the GF

Yep, but it is where we are at. Not easy to see the way out of it. We need some careful manouvring with our roster in the next 12 months because there's plenty to like in there, and i'm encouraged by the talent filtering through our systems... but the wage thieves have to go and be replaced by honest contributors, and we need a halfback.
