Hughes really should take a leaf from Clarke's book, and LEAVE more balls. He is playing like it is a ODI or a T20. As an opening bat, he plays at way too many balls and the ball moves for an hour or two. Lets the bowlers bowl to you as a batsman. I would love nothing more than Hughes to be 15 n.o at lunch rather than be out for 20 in the 4th over. It would show he has maturity in his approach.
So what happens if Hughes gets a ripper of a delivery first ball after lunch and is dismissed?

I have a very good gut instinct for cricket and a very good cricket brain (if the team I play for on weekends would just let me be captain we'd be so much better) and the combined knowledge of my cricket brain as well as my gut instinct tells me that Hughes will blow up on Friday and smash the sheepshaggers all over Hobart.

Now you're just taking the piss (at least I hope you are).

Phil Hughes is the cricket version of South Sydney-talented, but produces sh*t far more often than not

Bad luck, that is cricket, but slogging from ball 1 and playing balls 2 foot outside off stump won't help Hughes either. In fact it looks worse, it looks like he doesn't care.

What part of my post was taking the piss?

Do I think highly of my instinct and brains for the game? I do.
Do I think I should be captain and do I think my tard teammates are standing in the way of us and more winning? I do.
Do I think Hughes will do well in Hobart? I do.

No piss taking, all serious post.

I am not. I bat 5th, field mid on and bowl leg spin, although I'm only allowed to bowl to tail enders when we're winning by heaps. If I was captain I'd open the batting, field 1st slip and be first change bowler.

Back on topic, looks like there might be a bit of light rain for the first few days of the test match. Lets hope there is no interruptions and the umpires don't have any excuse to go off early because of "bad" light.

Could you be more specific about your batting position please. Do you bat when the team are 5 down or do you actually bat at 5?

So is it fair to say that you can't bat, can't bowl and can't field?

probably fields at both, I am certain he took a catch from mid-on in the last test.

Symonds used to field at mid-on/mid-off too and that guy was almost a specialist fielder.

Mid on is the place where you send your shit fielders. It would ideally be fine leg but that's where the quick bowlers escape for a breather between overs. When Bunnies Derp played junior cricket I am almost positive he fielded at long stop

Hussey is also not a specialist mid on.
