Seriously there is no point in today. Captains should shake hands and be done with it.

P.S. Moving the Gabba match from November to their wettest month of the year was ridiculous
We had complete control of venue allocation and made a ballsup of it to appease WA or tried to funk it up.

Like seriously how hard is to stick with what we have always done for Ashes series.

Gabba Test 1
Adelaide Test 2 - D/N
Perth Test 3
Melbourne Test 4
Sydney Test 5

Agree, we have 4 established tests usually:

Brisbane: opening test of the summer
Adelaide: pink ball test
Melbourne: boxing day
Sydney: first test of the new year/last test of the summer.

Perth has to decide where they fit: is it before or after Adelaide. And then get a theme that attracts fans. West Test doesn't cut it.

2013/14 Ashes series dates.

Should have been around these dates with the venues give or take when the Thursday or Friday lands in those weeks for those early tests still in work period.

They started this year on the 25th November in Perth

They were talking about the fixturing on ABC Grandstand an hour or so earlier. Apparently a lot of the fixturing calls are being done at the request of Channel 7 who want as much Test Cricket during afternoon/evening hours so that they have people at home watching.

Perth as the first Test because of the time difference meaning bums on seats at home watching on TV. D/N test to follow (2025 will be the Gabba), but the 3rd Test in a series to be a day game because the BBL starts by the third Test and Channel 7 love Test Cricket running straight into a BBL game.

Sydney and Melbourne to remain as is because of the holiday period.

Didn't hear the rest of the chat because I had to go to meeting.
