Benji is getting even worse

It went pear shaped once he got married.
The timeline of failure doesn't lie and shows it went to shit shortly after the nuptials.

Women have killed many men's careers. This is another example.

Cant believe any club in any code would go near him. Iam afraid Benji is playing the best he can,he aint going to get any better and my guess the Blues will flick him after one year as his form and his ability to adjust to union will hit a all time low

Who knows rugby might suit him, just tell him to pretend the 2 extra players on the field are the touchies and he'll kill it

2 runs for 11 metres against the Titans. That has to be a new level of pathetic.
He has given up and is railroading us for the spoon.

Drop him. f**k his 200th game milestone.

stop talking nonsense.

She, nor the marriage, is the issue here.

Benji's ever inflating ego and ever increasing softcock playing style is the issue.

It's been an ever growing issue for a few seasons. He's a prima donna that Sheens created. His missus has nothing to do with it.

Many NRL players are married and it has no effect on their careers.

This line of argument is nonsensical drivel.

Fair point but I think your points are also drivel.

Who knows why he has gone backwards over the last couple of seasons. I don't think he has been that bad. I just think he has lost his running game due to getting a little older.

Getting married is the worst f**king excuse/explanation I have ever heard as to why one athlete out of several hundred has been playing like shit.

Calm down mate. I was talking about the timing of his wedding and the bad form that followed for 18+ months now.
Both coincide with each other.
Whatever the reason it doesn't matter now. He is going thank Christ.

It appears Benji is about to or has signed a contract with the Blues. If that was to go sour for some reason is there any way (should he change his mind or swollow his pride for example) he could stay with us?

I was wanting to know have discussions progressed far enough and with the club offering some players upgraded contracts (based on the money they will get back not signing Benji) that the club will not change their mind should Benji or Tauber come cap in hand looking to renegotiate the deal he previously turned down.

With his current form and poor attitude to playing I just need reassurance he is going and can't come back.....

He's gone. Wont see him again in WT colours after this season. Sad way to see things end up but we have to look to the future and its not Marshall.

It's interesting how a couple of news outlets today are saying that he will most likely be dropped today.

Happy about that but again, is that something that has been leaked by an insider? Find him and sack him as well.

Did you see the article on Fulton today re Benji? He should know better and be non committal on his place in the squad.

Wests Tigers playmaker Benji Marshall could be dropped in favour of rising star Luke Brooks
UPDATE: BENJI Marshall's career at the Wests Tigers could come to a premature end Tuesday as the club moves to make way for boom teenage halfback Luke Brooks to make his debut against Parramatta on Friday night.
But Marshall's Wests Tigers teammates believe the departing superstar deserves to see out his time with the NRL club in the top grade.
Suggestions Marshall would be dropped by coach Michael Potter were rubbished by teammates, despite the champion five-eighth's obvious struggles with form and distractions off the field.
As part of the build-up to last week's heavy loss to Gold Coast, Marshall spent time in Auckland for talks with the Blues Super Rugby franchise, and was clearly below his best on his return against the Titans.
Long-time teammate Liam Fulton said criticism of Marshall was unwarranted.
The Daily Telegraph reported Monday that Marshall had agreed to a code switch with the Blues but Fulton said the squad had not yet been informed of his plans and, either way, claimed the former New Zealand Test captain warranted a fitting farewell, needing just four more games to register 200 with the club.
"Benji's a great player and a great bloke. He deserves his chance to finish the season out,'' Fulton said on Tuesday.
"He came in 2003 and set the NRL on fire - he deserves his fairytale finish.''
"He'd be devastated if that happened (he was dropped), but I'm sure that won't happen.
"He's a class player and we all believe in him and want him to play out the rest of the year.''
In what is shaping as a watershed week for the struggling club, the Tigers will officially ask the NRL for a second-tier salary cap exemption so they can name Brooks Tuesday.
The club will also seek permission to name Jarred Farlow to replace Robbie Farah after the inspirational skipper was on Monday ruled out for two weeks with a hand injury.
But debate over Marshall's future will overshadow everything else after another disastrous showing in Sunday's heavy loss to the Gold Coast.
Marshall had two runs for a total of 11m - and his effort had plenty questioning if his heart was still at the Tigers given his imminent switch to Super Rugby.
Over the past month, Marshall's form has got progressively worse.
He was also criticised for making a rushed trip to New Zealand last week to talk to the Auckland Blues just days before the game on the Gold Coast.
Marshall is expected to make his signing with the Blues official in the coming days.
Potter caused a furore when he benched Marshall for the round 10 clash against South Sydney but most critics of that decision would now agree Marshall's form no longer justifies his place in the team.
The only thing saving Marshall from an inglorious end to his NRL career is his reputation.
It would be a massive decision for Potter to dump the superstar with only five weeks left in the regular season and Marshall four games short of 200 matches for the Tigers.
Marshall has given great service to the club but his form this year, and especially in the past month, justifies the club's decision to let him walk out on the final two years of his contract.
A key reason the Tigers couldn't afford to keep Marshall on the $1 million-a-year handshake agreement he had with former chief executive Stephen Humphreys until the end of 2017 was the emergence of Brooks and Mitchell Moses, who both recently agreed to extended deals.
The Tigers have now lost their past four games and Friday night's clash against the last-placed Eels is shaping up as a wooden-spoon shootout.
Potter said Brooks' time had arrived. Asked if the 18-year-old was ready for the NRL, Potter said: "I think so. He has proven himself in State Cup and he is doing a great job for the under-20s.
"I don't think that there is any doubt that he needs to be challenged at this level.
"It is the next stage in his development, so we will go through the process and see what happens."
Potter could still name Marshall at five-eighth or start Curtis Sironen alongside Brooks, given they are the most likely pairing for next year.
The Tigers are on the limit of their second-tier salary cap as a result of the club's shocking run of injuries.
While the second-tier salary cap is designed to stop the richer clubs stockpiling the best talent, Brooks is a local junior who played for the Leichhardt Wanderers and went to school at Holy Cross Ryde.
"They put these rules in place to try and protect the game and I understand that, but he is a local junior and it makes sense to let him play," Potter said.
"We have to have one eye on next year and both eyes on trying to win the next game. We have to name a team that is capable of doing that.
"There is no doubt it would be great for the surrounding district that (Brooks) comes through and gets his shot at first grade and that will help him for the future.
"I just want him to get a couple of games before the end of the year and get a sniff of what it is like."

It's a dot-to-dot exercise.

*Wests Tigers have lost Benji to RU next year
*Benji is in woeful form
*Wests Tigers are asking for an exemption for Brooks to play in the NRL

join the dots and you get the presumption that Benji is dumped.

It's not fact, just a theory bandied about by some bored journos, which is logical and may prove to be right.

Farlow to replace Farah?

I read another article that said Joel Luani would replace him, if the Tigers could get an exemption for them to play.

It seems the NRL is willing to agree given that they will be playing the last placed side and neither side is in finals calculations.

I said on another forum I don't believe Benji will be dropped regardless of form because there is too much money to be made on merchandise etc.

I do think he won't play anywhere in round 26 and pull up stumps on 200 games
