I will buy a Broncos membership if Hagan ends up being selected as our coach for next year.

Who they assign as assistant coaches will be interesting. Would Brown bring his own people in? We need a very capable coaching circle, Matt Lantry has put the Under 20's so far backwards it isn't funny and Troy Pezet isn't much better.

I'm beginning t lean towards Brown. Maybe bringing some of Bellamy's ruthlessness is what the club needs.

May as well bring back Stone or Hagan if we're fair dinkum about Furner. He was exactly the same for the Raiders, far too close to the players and never made any tough calls that were needed.

None of the above for me.

At the very least for love of dog please not Furner or Griffin. Both proven failures.

Still disappointing we rejected Walker bros. Would have been able to implement a brand of football that would set us apart and play to our quality backline.

Does coaching a team with radical methods to 4th place in a third tier competition really give you a shot at coaching in the NRL?

Clear second tier, and they lifted them from spooners with pretty much the same squad.

We aren't going to beat the big clubs trying to do the same thing they do. We need to do something different.

Unfortunately our club don't have the stones to do something about that.

I'm less interested in a particular candidate at the moment and more what their plans are to get us out of this current state. That needs to be the one question asked and any coaches that utter any words related to relying on junior talent or engaging the community in response to it should automatically be scratched.

Only focus of their interview should be the way they engage the community is to give them a winning football side. They will do whatever it takes to do that but it has to be done their way with total board support. If the board does not give them that vibe they themselves should reject the job. Not the other way around.

Until Newcastle realises it is about winning and not surviving the Knights are truly an exercise in self torture. The days of local juniors winning comps are over. It is a myth. The Broncos get away with it cos they have 3/4 of Qld as their nursery.

Of course we can.

The whole issue with our club over the last 20 years is we werent willing to do what the successful clubs were doing. You cant just say "oh we cant do that, lets just throw all convention out the window and try something different for the sake of it being different"

The blueprint for success is there for all to see, it just needs to be embraced by our backwards club

The Gold Coast Bulletin are saying today that the Walker bros were told on Monday that they were out of the race. Down to Griffin, Brown and Brennan.
