With that moustache, I can see a future for him in the gay porn industry.

What better place to learn his trade than C Block, Goulburn Gaol?

Whatever happened to the good old days where your Mrs hit you over the head with a frying pan when you got pissed and obnoxious?

Birdy must have got to the recycle bin before she got to the dishwasher.

if she is vulnerable emotionally, things like "i can change", "i'm sorry, so sorry, i'll never do it again", happen, and the innocent party actually feels guilty if they don't give them another chance, or they say, look at his good points etc etc.

You have no idea mate. A woman's make-up too, is different, theirs is based on emotions, not logic, which can be manipulated by some pricks.
That's right.
It sounds like the relationship is fairly abusive because he was actually calling her a 'f**king idiot' after he'd hurt her and also that he told her he didn't do it manipulating her.
Fact is that if he has allegedly hurt her before than she's probably been manipulated a fair bit so her siding with him to blame the friend wouldn't surprise me.

Atilla, pull your head in your comments are extremely offensive and out of line.

Yeah and also they like the attention they get when they`re getting beaten. I`ve seen plenty of women in my life who love being beaten, cos they feel like they matter then. Or whatever.

I don`t care about this woman at all to be honest, you get what you ask for when you go out with a piece of crap like Bird. But I just wanna see him out of the game forever.

I'm thinking you've been bashed one too many times idiot. FFS, you cannot rationalise what Bird did!

Chook.

None of you can rationalise what happened because none of you ignorant twats actually know what happened.
Main witness has not given a binding statement to police, another witness is going on hearing voices in another apartment..both will be torn to shreds by an even moderate crim lawyer if it comes to that.
All your info is coming out of the newspapers and other areas of the media that most of you hold up to ridicule during the season..guys at leats be a little consistent, either the media are hacks or they are not!

Greg Bird should've called sharko instead of his childhood mate Watson. sharko seems dumb enough to take the rap for him.

You need to be dragged into Earth's recycling bin. And then right-click / empty.

Unlikely. Unfortunately one gets the impression that it is somewhat common in violent relationships for the woman to back up her partner against such allegations.

Dont know why. Will have to ask a psychologist...

When you are in a volatile relationship sometimes it's just easy to agree for the sake of peace. It's hard to explain and I can understand why the majority don't understand.
I really feel for the girl and I hope she gets some support which I am sure she will - she needs to accept it.
She's not alone, but she will definately feel alone.

I never tried to rationalize what Bird did, he`s a grub. But I can`t rationalize why the woman put herself into this position in the first place. I don`t handle stupid people very well, and she must be living in some sort of Dreamland to hang out with rubbish like him. Where is her judgement of character?

It`s all in the character, these kinds of incidents don`t just come out of nowhere, they come from the character of the offender. If he does this sort of stuff, then I`m sure he`s not exactly a great communicator and a caring, kind mate in the first place.

You seriously are an idiot. If this was the case, why does domestic abuse happen? Everyone would know beforehand. Why don't we arrest because we would 'know' it would happen. As much as you would like to think, people who aren't great communicators or maybe not as caring aren't necessarily going to hit someone with a glass. He doesn't have a previous record of violent acts, so why should we all assume it was forseeable.

These events tend to happen in a cycle. So the pressure will build up to a violent act, and then afterwards it will be 'nice'. The offender will be apologetic and loving, and after repeated cycles the victim can sometimes believe that they cause it because the person is really nice and they make them violent. But then again, every situation is different. Some stay for kids, to not only protect them but so they can grow up in a 'complete' family.

It may sound stupid, but it is true. There have been successful murder charge defences where a battered wife will kill the abusive husband, and it will be determined as self defence, because the wife knew the husband would hurt her again. That being said, there have been a lot of cases where this has also been unsuccessful.

This is one of the best uses of the Chewbacca defense I have seen in modern times.

To refresh:

"Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks? That does NOT MAKE SENSE! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does NOT MAKE SENSE! Look at me. I'm a lawyer defending a major record company, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does NOT MAKE SENSE! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, you must acquit! The defense rests. "

chewbacca defense - def
The Chewbacca Defense is a term for any legal strategy or propaganda strategy that seeks to overwhelm its audience with nonsensical arguments, as a way of confusing the audience and drowning out legitimate opposing arguments. It is thus a kind of logical fallacy: specifically, a red herring fallacy and non sequitur similar to argumentum ad nauseam.

f**k me hasn't this thread dragged out a few cave men.

There is no excuse for what Bird did.

There is no pointing the finger at the girl and saying "she should have known better...he's a grub...".

Pathetic really.

Grow the f**k up or keep your inular wife beating opinions to yourselves, you f**king neanderthals.
