Was there meant to be an advantage of XXXXXXXXXXXL jerseys in the late 90's/early 00s ?

"Baggie" was the style, that's about it.

Mind you in that photo, Rogers was swimming in his, its like they gave him Webcke's size by mistake.

send it to the club, they'll file it in the "too much common sense" basket and come up with something geniused instead.

i think we need to ditch nike as a manufacturer/designer

I did send it to them and I just got a reply. Here it is:

Thank you for your recent email. We appreciate the feedback and it has been passed on to our marketing department for their information. They are constantly working with Nike on what our fans want to see in their teams? jerseys around both colours and designs.

We will have a new home jersey for next year and we look forward to hearing from you once this has launched.

Thank you for following the team.

Correct. Not sure how Brisbane can claim they will have a new jersey if the rules are still three years for many. Current design only appeared last year, 2013.

I usually dont support jereys being changed at every opportunity, but this kind of needs to happen...

Then again, they will probably manage something worse next time. I was actually about to make a "shit stain" joke, but i remembered they already did that.

Yeah that can't be right, the soccer style home jersey only came out last year and the faded away version of it came out this year.

We've been with Nike since 97, wish another manufacturer would convince us to change.

Just bring back the 92 jerseys as they were originally, with the new material and sponsors they'd look ace.

Has the NRL rules changed in regards to jersey designs? Is the rule still 3 years for main design and 2 years for alternate?

Jersey allocation per season:
1. Main Jersey x 1 design – 3 year design cycle

2. Alternate ‘A’ x 1 design - 2 year design cycle

3. Alternate ‘B’ x 1 design - 1 year design cycle

4. ‘One-Off Promotional’ – unlimited allocation per season – 1 year design
cycle

A Club must maintain its Main Jersey design for a minimum of three seasons before it may submit to change it. Clubs must provide an application in writing to change their main jersey within the 12 month time frame

as per 2012 Operations Manual

I don't think the NRL are too strict on the the year cycle. Several teams have changed earlier in the past. I don't think any Jersey maker could do a good version of our 92 strip anymore. Every manufacturer has those side panels down the side, meaning no stripes can go all the way around. Therefore we just get those mismatched heritage style jerseys we've had over the past few years

As much as I don't think the Broncos will follow through, at least they are engaging with fans for feedback, etc... I sent the Raiders an in-depth branding proposal late last year. It took nearly two months to get this response:

We thank you for your proposal but at this time it is not required.

This was from reception (not marketing) after I chased it up for feedback twice over two months. The gap in professionalism between the two clubs is staggering.

They absolutely could do the stripes all the way around. Why are side-panels seemingly impossible to print to?

I know, it's absolutely ridiculous, but I can't recall seeing any team's side panels have patterns/different colours on them. I could be wrong though...

Or for some reason, they refused to:

The only two issues I can think of are that they cant print onto certain materials, or if different-sized player cuts throw alignments out the window.

I think I have to be the only person in the world who thinks the Broncos actually have a knack for creating half decent jerseys.

Every year I think they have one of the better kits in the comp and every year everyone else jokes at how bad it is

Maybe it's the slick Nike template playing tricks with me?

In fairness that seems par for the course for receptionists

Your best bet would be to get something in the mail oldschool, addressed to someone in the marketing team (sure you could Google it) and chuck in a few small objects to give it some bulk so its not discarded as junk mail
