What pisses me off most about slim shady is that he's walking the streets of western Sydney as if he owns the place. What a turd. In stealing a line from Fatty Vautin in ARL '96, "He should be on a farm with the rest of the geese!"

yep - 9,000 odd swans fans drive an extra 30 minutes down the road to watch their team play and someone makes a big deal about it

Got back to the Cricket club on saturday night and the Swans vs Carlton game was on the TV. There was no way there was 10,000 people there, empty seats were cleary visable on the TV

g) There was some event on at Claremont that had thousands, we went past on the way home.

Music festival called Good Vibrations :)

They have played NAB Cup and other practice games at Homebush in previous years with crowds of less than 5k.

The official opening of the new ground was obviously a turn on for Swans fans who made the trek. It was also given far more publicity than it deserved.

Much of the crowd left disappointed though as Shandy reneged on his promise of a solid 1 hr meet and greet session in the new boggers after the game. He was obviously given an offer elsewhere that he could not refuse.

The AFL thing was a special event

The opening of a new ground and the first NAB Cup game played in Sydney in years. The previous 5 or so years have all seen the Swans play at Manuka Oval in Canberra.

Everyone know Sydney-siders turn up in large numbers for one off events.

Now, about naming that GWS team. We should all agree for team name and vote for the same option.

Victorians?
Fumblers?

Seeing they've invaded our territory, why not give them a name in memory of an NRL team that no longer stands alone? The mighty Greater Western Sydney Steelers. Suits them perfectly.

You spelt STEAL wrong :p

How about the Western Sydney thieving merkins?

That's got a ring to it that we can all appreciate
