My two cents:

I've been following the NRL since the 2015 season, and this is by far the worst with all these lopsided scores. Saying its because of players attitudes or cause of COVID are lame excuses, as someone noted players attitudes have always been the same and baseball is as competitive as ever even though its bogged own with its own rules controversies.

I'm finding it harder and harder to justify staying up well past midnight here in the US to watch these games or waking up and watching the replays first thing in the morning. And by that extension, if this is the new normal, I am going to find it hard to justify paying a 150 dollars a season when I'm hardly watching. There were seasons past where I would try to watch as many games as my schedule and time zone allowed, but this season theres already been 2-3 rounds where I didnt watch a single game and a few more rounds where the 1 or 2 I did I wish I hadn't.

You suck because Rick can't coach and is a shit bloke who the whole squad can't stand

The Raiders have been mediocre since the nrl started. I can happily follow some pretty awful Raiders sides and enjoy rugby league

But I'm struggling to watch games this year. It's not that the Raiders are bad it's that everyone is bad besides the panthers, storm and eels.

I'm not going to throw the toys out of the pram and tell everyone I'm not watching NRL any more blah blah blah but......

It's becoming a problem. Apart from the half time break there is no way of changing momentum if a team is disciplined and skilled enough not to make errors (which the likes of Melbourne and Penrith).

If a team in the middle of the ladder is on the end of a flogging what is the point of using up juice to make the scoreboard respectable besides pride? Why not cop the flogging this week so that you can bounce back the week after?
I'm not sure if teams are doing that but with the current rules you couldn't blame them.

This is f**king nonsense. If you can't step up and complete a single set in defence to turn the tide then you can get f**ked really.

There is no grind in the games.

Hardly any 'big' tackles anymore.

Alot of very soft tries scored. It's not entertaining seeing ppl stroll over at first receiver without decoys or cut out passed.

Too many arms tackles because there is too much scrunity on defence (high shots, 6 against). Defence lines are very passive.

Even the best defensive sides (Panthers, Storm etc) they're not great defensive sides as compared to years gone past.

The game is soft, unwatchable and lame.

Just lol at anyone thinking a single set of defence is regularly enough to turn the tide of momentum in the current game.

On the whole these days, teams would have to put together numerous sets defensively, then rely on a piece of individual brilliance with the ball to swing momentum in their favour.

Welch plays for the defending premiers, current competition leaders and a side heading towards the largest fa in the history of the sport and he seems to think it's difficult to turn around momentum with defence

Melbourne were good under the wrestle are good now. I'd be asking him what did they do differently

Bellamy is an elite coach and rebuilt after the 2016 gf failure to be more attacking focused

The 2020 interpretation played into the team he already built

This is really good for Bellamy's legacy but not exactly exciting for me
