Dunno about that.

Eels biggest issue is that no-one in their forward pack is willing to put in the hard work early. Paulo, RCG, Cartwright and Hopgood all look to promote the ball - either before the line, or offloading after contact. Sometimes you just need to be head down and run hard.

That's what NSW did best last night - just ran over QLD - and Moses played off the back of that brilliantly.

If the Eels forwards aren't getting him on the front foot, I don't think he can drag their sorry asses along for the ride.

No 'workers' in the pack and all of them have some defensive deficiencies as well. It's a little 'Too many Chiefs, not enough Indians'.

None of the current Panthers forwards are really 'off loaders' or 'ball players' but all of them can get on their front for a Quick PtB, all of them cover well in defence, most of them can put good shots on opposition.

Even our sole ball playing forward in Yeo can do all the tough stuff - Straight hit ups, defend well etc he can do it all really other than hurt the opposition with big shots, but he is such an effective tackler I wouldn't trade even his defence for any other player.

The best part about Yeo (in a stacked field) is his variation and how often he takes the right option. He spreads it early, digs into the line before passing and shapes to pass before running and dragging a few defenders in what feels like equal measure. Most halves don't vary their general play up as much as Yeo does and he very rarely takes an option that doesn't work for the team. That's before we've even started on the rest of his game.

Unbelievable player. We're very lucky to be able to watch him in his prime.

Who knew that he was really a halfback in a 2nd rowers body?

Cowboys are set to rest all of their Origin players. We should be looking to rest Edwards and Martin IMO.

Laurie to Fullback. Smith to Second Row.
Bring Toelau into 14 - cover for Luai, Cole & Kenny who all could struggle

Last bench spot could be anything. I can see cases being made for Geyer, Sommerton, Peachey or Patea.

Cowboys backline looks very weak. Surely this is the week that Tago plays himself back into form.

I hope at least a few of our Origin stars back up as I'm going to the game and haven't been to many lately due to work. Yeo, To'o and Luai surely can back up. Maybe rest Martin and Edwards.
Whatever the case we need the win to entrench ourselves in the top 2.

PANTHERS TO REST ORIGIN STARS

Penrith will showcase more of their emerging talent with two rising stars set to make their NRL debut on Sunday.
It is understood that the Panthers will blood highly touted 18-year-old Casey McLean and front-rower Luron Patea as they rest a host of their Origin players. The Panthers have already tied the duo to long-term contracts to keep rival clubs away before they even got a taste of first grade.

McLean has been earmarked as a decade long Penrith player and the NSW under-19s outside back has already re-signed with the club until the end of 2028. Older brother Jesse has already had a taste of first grade but it will be Casey’s turn against the Cowboys on Sunday.

The likes of Brian To’o, Liam Martin and Dylan Edwards are expected to skip the game for the Panthers.
Patea is also a NSW under-19 representative having played in the match last season. The 19-year-old was recently promoted into the club’s top 30 roster with his deal extended until the end of 2027.
