you are being so glass half empty

instead you should see the - "there is only 50 seconds to go - I'm trusting you to go out and win the game for us"

:?

Well, when you put it that way....

Alvaro is useless and has failed at NRL level.

Souths won the grand final last year with 6 Polynesian's and potentially 7 if Luke played and they kept Korisau on the bench. They beat a Bulldogs side with 5 Polynesian's and would have been 6 if Kasiano wasn't injured. Lloyd Perrett played a big part in the side all year too

Semi finalists the Roosters had 10 Polynesian's and the Panthers 7 or 8

I have never said not to have Polynesians in a team. 5 or 6 is fine if you have enough hardheads in your team.

A lot of guys are quoting players like Cayless as Polynesians to get them up to 7 in a team.
I thin Ram is talking about real Islanders, not guys with Islander herritage

Sucks that we lost, and it shouldn't have happened.

I was speaking to my mate, and we both remarked how weird it is that every time we're in control, we give away a penalty which starts the rot - and it happened last night. Their first two tries came off penalties.

We couldn't come up with a plausible explanation for this. The closest we came was suggesting it was a lack of confidence combined with maybe a lack of fitness - it's hard to stay focussed when you're fatigued.

Yes I don't really think that a player like Cayless who is so mixed and grew up in Aus all his life and has a Aus attitude is what I am really referring to.

But for general purposes, lets just say, 5-6 should be the limit unless you are blessed to have the Kiwi standard and hard arse Jeremy Smith type to carry more.

One thing I will say is that both teams were offside as much as each other all night and then out of nowhere after their first try in the second half they get us for being offside. I don't understand this, I truly don't. They went down and scored again.

Yes we are soft and mentally piss weak but FMD the refs can find a bullshit penalty to get us on the back foot.

There was another incident in the first half where Junior Paulo was pushed over after the tackle had been completed and the ref let it go. A couple of minutes later Cowboys get a penalty for much less.

Also the Watmough lost ball in the first half, the ref had his arm up about to blow a penalty and then changed his mind and said lost ball. Replays show it was stripped.

These refs are a joke in general, they are on par with how mentally piss weak our team is and that is pretty f**king bad!

I remember the Watmough one at the game, I saw the ref point to give us a penalty, and then Choc got angry. Next thing you know, he calls a scrum.

How about the strip on Semi not called? Or Thurston's double movement in the first half that was unpenalised because we were penalised instead? They scored off that penalty.

Generational ethnic cleansing seems to be working for the best then Ram ?

Idiots here called it the stolen generation.

For what it's worth, mate, I understand your point about the Polynesian players.

Scott will be a Godsend next year.

The exact same shit happened last week against Penrith. Both teams commit the same offences the entire game but then they blow penalties at weird times. The hand on the ball one shits me the most. There is a hand on the ball in most tackles but they blow a random penalty every 150 tackles for it.

It happens in all games every weekend, not just ours. Usually against the lower placed teams too.

I hate Ricky but he has a point.

Race has nothi9ng to do with it. Sign the best players you can and get rid of the shit ones regardless of race. Let's say Ryan Morgan and Semi Radradra are both off contract. Do you let Semi go and keep Morgan because your over your self imposed Islander quota or do you sign the better player?

Further to that, every team stands off side almost all the time, yet there are 2 or 3 penalties a game for it.

We have the makings of a pretty good side, we can score points against the best of them but really need to defend for more than 60mins a game. Also need to use the interchange better.

I dare say that the coaching staff only felt that we had 15 NRL players available for yesterdays game.

Seffa was dropped. Props in Wenty were Tui & Lasalo. Backrowers were rookies for even Wenty.

Im not sure enough urgency was shown when it was 30-12. That is when they should of went ok, lets calm down and slow the play down again.Instead we give away a penalty and they score on the last.
Once it got too 30-18 with plenty of time to go you knew the cowboys would fire up.
In the first half i could see plenty of points in the cowboys. But we touched the ball once in there 5 try run.And Sandow kicked it on the 3rd for a 40/20.Which almost come off.
At some point thou our defense should of said we are going to have a monster set where we rush up and HAMMER then as hard as we can.We did not do that once.

But lets sum it up. The cowboys scored 4 of there tries off kicks and one handed to them of a semi drop ball. There was a massive ellement of luck in the whole thing.

We tried to have a "monster set" in defence after the first try (30-12). But we got penalised 1st or 2nd tackle for being offside.

That gave the Cowboys even more momentum and got them in position for the second try.

i genuinely had a "did that really happen or did I dream it?" moment when i woke up this morning

I couldn't watch the game last night. So my son and I got up early to watch the first half this morning. Matt says to me "dad, I want to check the score before I go to school". I said OK as I thought we would go on to win the game.

He told me the score and I could not believe it. So, sure enough, I watch the second half (young bloke is off to school, he can go through the agony later), Semi scores, we get the penalty, 30-6 up. I am thinking he must have heard it wrong. So I watch the clock.

FMD 30-6 up with 24 minutes to go and we lose?!?

I feel bad for Semi, his dropped ball started the rot. Follow that up with Hoppa's dropped bomb and that is the game right there. We hold onto the pill both times we win that game.

They just needed to man up and defend and NOT drop their bundle after a mistake. Mistakes will happen it's what you do after that..... which is what really counts.

Our club our team is freakn weak mentally. From the juniors upwards. They are coming last.

The timing baffles me too.
"Why give it now ref, when you could have given it 20 times in the last 20 minutes?"

FMD!

I think the most comical part of the night was when we were up 28-6 and were attacking their line, there could have been several penalties given to us and nothing, then they finally give us one and Thurston whinges about it.......

Not long after they get us for being offside when as you said, that penalty could have been given each set of the game up until that point.

I don't believe there is an actual conspiracy or anything but I do question the mentality of referees and giving the leg up to the better team on paper, whether consciously or not.
