Matt Moylan the future immortal btw.

He’s the best playmaker we’ve produced since Gower for sure, his attitude was great till 2016.

Anyone who can just turn it on like that against his old club twice now is seriously f**king talented. Unfortunately whatever happened happened and we had to let him go.

I still think a keen and committed Moylan would’ve been a great result out of what happened.

Am I missing something .commentators keep saying sharks will go to 4th if they win .they are on a difference of 30. They would have to win by 70 to get in.
Half that actually. But it was never going to happen. The Roosters could knock us out of the top 4 though.

I am disappointed that we lost but not disappointed with the effort.

We weren’t prepared for such a fast ruck - the fast play the balls that Cronulla received are what caused us to miss tackles. They received those fast play the balls not because they were winning the ruck but because, after a few penalties for holding down, we were concerned about slowing the game down to the speed we are used to (and giving up more penalties) and were getting off tackles too quickly.

A consistently fast game for both sides would have been fine but the problem was that Sharks were allowed to lay all over us all game - I don’t remember more than one penalty being given to us for the Sharks holding down, despite the fact that they slowed down a lot of tackles. I thought that was unfair and inexplicable. Yeo needed to talk to the referee about it. It left a sour taste in my mouth.

We look more dangerous in attack with Luai and May as our halves than with Cleary and Maloney, it is pretty crazy.

Aekins did a good job on debut. He shouldn’t turn his back when running at the line. He is a step down from DWZ, however, but will have to do his best for us until DWZ is back.

I thought we had the better of that second half. Sharks experience got them home but the scoreline flattered them. Notwithstanding his miss on Moylan, a place in the side has to be found for Tyrone May.

A careless error or two, some dodgy decisions against us, and still if our wingers could only finish, we'd have been 18 all with the momentum.

Luai was great again, dynamic in attack and a rock in defense.

Don’t know if one player has managed to piss me off more than Matt Moylan in this game.

Not really too down about this game though, refs seemed to have it in for us since the first minute and with the players we had out compared to them it’s safe to say there is a huge chance the result would have been different if the teams were both at full strength!

A few thoughts:

- I thought Aetkin had a mixed night on debut, his second half was a lot stronger than his first but something about his positioning seemed off.
- Jarome Luai has that spark about him, he is so electric when he decides to take players on and his decision making has looked spot on so far. I definitely think he should take the fullback from next week going forward.
- I don’t know the last time I have seen a player come along like Villiame Kikau. I doubted his ability to be as dangerous in the late stages of a game once he started playing 80 minutes but he seems to be able to handle it fine. The break he made at the end of the game, not many other players in the game can do that. I think his combination with Waqa Blake and Josh Mansour once he is back will be the most destructive left hand side in the competition
- James Tamou needs to play like that week in week out and I have no idea why he hasn’t been. For a man of his size he has amazing speed and footwork
- I think Wade Egan had one of his best games since coming into first grade, he was really quick through the middle and kept the tempo up. Mixed night for Katoa I thought, he has an amazing slight of hand and pass selection when getting out of dummy half but a few sloppy plays cost him
- Isaah Yeo, what an animal! I really hope he keeps the captaincy even when Maloney is back and from here going forward. He works so hard for that jersey

Besides the rage eyes I have for Moylan right now I am feeling quite positive and looking forward to the game against Brisbane next weekend!

I’m very happy with our performance tbh when you consider who we are missing.

We turn out nrl players for fun, Aekins started a bit shaky but he looks like he has what it takes.

Moylan played the flat track bully against a very young Panthers side. TBH I was impressed with how the baby Panthers went tonight.

Some tough calls at times too. Cronulla I believe the grubbiest of all footy teams in the NRL. Think Fifita may be in strife for his push in the tunnel on Jack.

A good effort tonight baby Panthers/

Good post. Moylan is nothing but a flat track bully. Jimmy would have eaten him for breakfast (if he played, same with Cleary)

Good performance. Got no luck and the refereeing was garbage. Sharks got way more leeway in the ruck and still struggled to contain us up the middle. If they were reffed like we were I think we run all over them. Still we weren't the finished article (understandably). Really missed the game management that Cleary or Maloney would have provided. Luai was a handful, May very good but our 5th tackle options were predictable and ultimately ineffective.

Aekins was a mixed bag for mine. Looked good in support, got good work done out of his own end and made an electric break but his work at the back was very shaky. Didn't get into position for kicks well at all and made a pretty costly error. Might be first game jitters but he'll need to improve at this level imo.

Good factors were the start from the forwards, particularly Tamou. The Blake/Kikau combination is utterly disgusting and most teams are going to struggle to contain it. Hetherington continues to look like a beast. Luai is demanding a place in this team. Surely he gets the fullback gig over Aekins. Can Katoa really not play 80? Would love to see May (who was very good) to stick around and not sure we can carry him and Egan. Peachey is going to struggle to get a run.

If that smarmy wanker didn't have a good game I might even be able to stomach it.

Please we were all over them for most of that game and probably the better side for much of it. We were not being bullied at all, calling him a flat track bully does not make sense. Don’t be one of those fans. Moylan carved us up for the second time, he will keep doing it to us cause he is that good and he will always be up for us.

If anything Moylan was the main reason they won, he had a hand in everything if they had Maloney instead of Moylan tonight I think we beat them.

Always disappointed with a loss, but cant really be disappointed with the effort. The Sharks had to earn that. I liked seeing Kikau pop up on the right as well. His confidence is growing every week, he has the potential to be as good or better than Talmololo. The combo with Blake should provide much excitement going forward.
