Cleary would be worse than our last 2 weeks. Luai has been playing with vision and creativity a class above what Cleary has for 2 years.

Nah don't agree with that at all. We missed Cleary big time tonight. Luai's been excellent but (like Cleary) he doesn't have a complete game.

They're two halves of a whole and we need to get them together.

we are quick to hate on the kid. he's the one who took us to the finals with Bryce Cartwright as his halves partner, then took us out of the bottom of the ladder to the second weeks of finals alongside a rookie when our captain wanted to have a whinge.

Moylan played the flat track bully against a very young Panthers side. TBH I was impressed with how the baby Panthers went tonight.

Some tough calls at times too. Cronulla I believe the grubbiest of all footy teams in the NRL. Think Fifita may be in strife for his push in the tunnel on Jack.

A good effort tonight baby Panthers/
I'm surprised Jack didn't break his jaw.

Don't hate Cleary I want Cleary/Luai halves combo. Unstoppable.

Cleary wouldn't have set up some of the tries though. He doesn't have Luai's vision and creativity. If not for Crichton's drop ball we go to golden point due to Luai.

Egan knows how to really get this team going,I'd be sticking with him permanently. Kikau needs an upgrade if he hasn't yet.

No need for panic yet, unless our injury list continues to grow,so lets bide our time and play the waiting game until the troops come home. So who misses out on one of the wing spots V Broncos next week?

And just to confirm,Sharks (currently 5th) will drop back to 6th if Easts win. Easts lose,we stay 4th,so all in all,no damage done if that scenario pans out.

Sure. But with a better kicking game and more options on the 5th tackle Luai gets both more opportunities and more space. Probably don't even need to worry about golden point in that scenaio.

I keep telling people Egan is the better long term prospect.

I don't get your point sorry.

What about the game when Cleary scored a hat trick against the Warriors and destroyed them even more convincingly than Luai did last week?

I find it incredible that anybody would doubt or not want Cleary as our halfback from here going forward. Mainly based off that fact that he wasn’t able to completely own his first State of Origin series as a 20 year old halfback.

I think Luai is a special talent also but I can say the same thing about plenty of the players we currently have and have had over the last few years. If he is as good as we are hoping he is then he will force himself to be picked, as Cleary has done for himself. If Luai gets his chance at fullback and handle it and looks amazing there I’m starting to imagine what a backline like this could do:

1. Luai
2. Mansour
3. Blake
4. DWZ
5. Edwards

Tonight was always going to be hard with 6 current rep players. Kept our for and against good so that is the best we could hope for.

You literally cut the bit that says I want Luai/Cleary as our halves. To expand on that start them like that in 2019 with Luai playing FB this year.

That was a worse warriors side then this seasons one but that was cleary’s best game and a great performance. He’s not not really gone close to that since.

Luai is a half, 7 or 6 it doesn’t really matter.

Our kicking game was poor. Our 5th tackle options were occasionally dangerous, but because a kick to the corner or bomb was rarely an option the Sharks handled it better than they would have otherwise. More variety in the halves makes Luai more dangerous.

Oh ok yeah I agree. Put Cleary and Luai together achieves that.

I think Katoa gets our forwards rolling much better and overall is much more skilled. Egan is bigger and a much better runner but Katoa gets our forwards into a lot of one on one tackles with his little fakes and tricks.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Egan should start instead of Sione. There are too many silly penalties in Katoa's game, almost to the point that refs are starting to look for him to penalise him.
