Not even close but at the moment we need them both.

Egan just looks better when we are running over the top of a side because he runs and you see him. Katoa’s game is all about distributing, he does that much better than Egan does right now.

Egan might be the better long term prospect but he isn’t better for us right now imo. His role is good atm, even if peach takes his spot it will do Egan good to go back and play reserves. His service needs work and we need to see if he can play 80 consistently.

That was a worse warriors side then this seasons one but that was cleary’s best game and a great performance. He’s not not really gone close to that since.

Luai is a half, 7 or 6 it doesn’t really matter.

Not really gone close is a bit of a hard call I think, of course he is not going to score a hat trick every week but I definitely think that there have been plenty of games and moments since coming into first grade that he has owned.

I am a lot happier to have these sorts of problems than have the problems that we did a fair few years ago with the Luke Lewis playing at halfback :joy::joy:

One decision that will have to be made next week is our wingers. Once Mansour is back either Phillips or Chricton must be dropped.

Which one do you drop? I think, given that Chricton is leaving us next season, we drop him. I think Chricton probably makes more meters coming out of our own end and on the whole is going to be a solid first grader winger, but Phillips should hopefully also keep improving and will still be with us next season as a depth signing. Phillips also has more pace.

From what I can tell Egan has pretty good service which is at least equal to Katoa.

He’s been consistently good but when he has he dominated a game like that since then?

Nah don't agree with that at all. We missed Cleary big time tonight. Luai's been excellent but (like Cleary) he doesn't have a complete game.

They're two halves of a whole and we need to get them together.

Small things finding touch off penalties.
Even setting up our sets we had props take the 4th tackle straight up. Leaving us needing to spread it on the last.

That is the stuff polished halves bring

Some of his passing is loose. It’s not as. crisp and clean as Katoa’s consistently is or even upto what Wally’s was imo. He can improve it a lot with hard work it’s not a big deal.

I give us a 10/10 for effort

Execution was off. But that comes down to inexperience and guys not using set plays and just throwing the ball around like an Under 20s match.

Lrota is theonly guy who I feel let us down. Hetherington had another dttong game. Tamou had some of his best runs sll year. Our left edge... goddamn that's a lethal combination.

Oh still not a fan of our wingers. They tried to be busy but they still don't look that good. Aekins was a mixed game but he looked very good defensively and had a nice run or two.

Do we? Obviously the club will know better than anyone here given they have access to his fitness stats but Katoa hasn't looked gassed to me. Egan hasn't done badly and adds energy in the back quarter but so would Peachey and I don't think we can carry both on the bench.

Drop both.

Aekins to wing couldnt be worse.

Well like I said he isn’t going to dominate games like that scoring hat tricks every week but he has definitely dominated some huge moments in games. His pass to set up Peachey’s winning try in the come back against Canberra, his break against Parramatta in round 1 to set up the final try to put them to bed and he has scored some important tries with his underrated support play through the middle. I think his goal kicking is also an important aspect going forward as he is quickly looking like he could be our highest point scorer of all time.

As I said earlier everybody is allowed to have there own opinion and I respect that also  again I am just happy that we are debating over problems that are more likely to have us towards the top of the ladder than the bottom! Let’s hope the boys can stay fired up for the rest of the season and really give this competition a shake with the talent that we have regardless who is out there wearing that jersey

Reckon Crichton is better than Phillips. I wouldn't mind trying Aekins over both if we think he can handle the high ball.

This is the least of Griffin's headaches. Who do you have as the bench utility, Egan, Peachey or May? We can only have one of the three. I say May but they all have their pros and cons. And who plays fullback? Both Aekins and Luai have claims. Glad its him and not me having to make these calls.

That is experience. Cleary would consistently take nothing hitups on fourth and get tackled leaving the last tackle a mess, there is no substitute for experience.

You can’t expect a spine with 36 games experience to look as polished as one with Maloney, Cleary and Dallin/edwards.

Luai did a fantastic job running the side the last two weeks for a rookie imo. Paired with Cleary or Maloney he’d look great I think.

Some people call Shane Flannagan a great coach, I would like to see him coach a bunch of inexperienced players, whose average age is under 23.

Phillips and Edwards both have different qualities, Phillips seems the safer option though.

I like aekins idea though, he looked good in the second half.

f**k I hate Moylan but it was always going to happen. I was expecting a field goal not a try assist to win the game. Credit to him, he got the chocolates. On reflection, it’s not just my friend Matthew, I hate that whole sharks team.

Ecstatic with our performance. The young kids are something else. Can’t believe people are saying Aekins had a mixed night, I thought he was superb. Looked dangerous every time he touched the ball & his work ethic is phenomenal.

I can’t see us being able to hold both Katoa & Egan, both are long term first grade starters. Both super impressive again.

We were desperately unlucky. Hammered with penalties at crucial times & Couldn’t of asked for worse bounce for Crichton. In regards to Crichton, he’s going to be a lot better than people say. Very mansouresque in the way he gets us out of trouble. Keeps improving.

Kikau & Blake. Wow.

Looking forward to the weeks ahead. Add in some of our missing guys & I think we have a real shot at this thing.
