I think people are kidding themselves if they think we'll be resting Maloney this week. Up against his old side again, i don't think you'll be able to stop him from playing.

I think 'the powers that be' will insist. He has a commitment on Thursday for Blues lunch. Basically no training with the team. The grog readings if a win occurs on Wednesday night will be thru the roof too.:p:p
The issue over the past couple of losses we have had is the team has not trained together during the week.
I think (I have no inside knowledge though) that Atkins will be F/B and the team will stay the same.

Like in all things I will trust the coaching staffs knowledge about these things too.

Fittler is very heavy on players getting back to there clubs. Malony will not have to attend the blues commitment is asked not to by his club.. I think depending on how they pull up. One will play one will rest and swap the next week

We won the series with a beer company as sponsor....I will be disappointed if any are in a state to play on Friday

Cleary wouldn't be much of a 20 year old if he wasn't still a write off on Friday night. I'm sure Maloney will lead by example there.

If he backs up this Friday and plays again the following week against the Broncs he will have played 3 games in 9 days.
I get the temptation of him playing the Sharks but the amount of clubs he has been at, he plays one of his old teams every 3 weeks.:p

Translation none should be driving for at least a month.

Like Whino said. He would be playing 3 games in 9 days and no training with the team this week. It would be the smart play to rest all our origin players even if to make sure we get a full week of training in.

If Maloney says he wants to play, i'm sure he'll play. Given we lost last time against the Sharks, he probably feels he has something to prove.

That is my thinking. Sat will be recovery. Sunday day off. Give them to comeback with the whole squad either the Monday or Tuesday depending when the rest comeback

It’s a coaching call period. We played like shit last time they backed up Maloney’s personal rivalries aren’t more important than the team. RCG should certainly be rested and given his age probably Maloney as well.

Heard a whisper the decision is pretty much made and Cleary / Maloney will be rested.

If Peachy backs up we could be looking at 1 Luai 6 Peachy 7 May with Luai defending in the fullback role when not in possesion and roving commission when on the attack.

If Peachy doesn't back up Caleb Aekins will debut.
