How will you cope next year without api mate haha.

Ive seen some man crushes on here but your api love is on another level.

Our best 9 ever and best in the game tho.

Huge loss..

Hes good for 6 points a week sometimes more.

Kiks normally good for 6 points a week too..be it setting one up or scoring.

The way i see it thats 12 points a week next year we will have to find a way to make up.

Anyway...this year first

This pretty much sums it up.

Won't be as noticeable full strength but take a half out and very slow attack

Have you actually watched Soni Luke play recently ?

If I recall correctly. Some were predicting doom and gloom this year because Burton and Capewell were moving on.

Nah. The smart observers were not worried. It was obvious that Tago would be a gun centre and that Martin would be the starting 2nd rower playing 60+ mins.

The only questions were how our weakened bench would go, and how we would cope during Origin with unknown halves.

We play Jennings in a semi we lose
Martin and Kiks need to play 80mins in finals to win.

That is where we are missing both for flexibility in the squad

If that's the case. Why did Kenny look so good last night at the beginning of the game. In fact the first 20 mins.

I prefer to wait and see what happens in 2023.

I recall folks here on this site, throwing toys out of the cot about the ramifications of Burton and capewell leaving. About how we couldn't possibly do as well this year as last.

I think I was one of the few voices late last year saying that Tago looked the goods at centre. And guess what I was right.

If you want to play you're doom and gloom games......go for it.

I'm not interested.

That last little sentence is why your opinions aren't taken seriously on here

Our record is 13-2 without Cleary, Api is a huge part of that.

This year alone

Api has 385 kick metres. 280 of those are in the 6 games he played without Cleary

He has 4 tries for the year. 2 of those in those 6 games

12 try assists for the year. 6 of them in the 6 games without Cleary

Luke will do a job but won't be able to take control like that for a season or 2

I watch most NSW Cup games.

Api doesn't play we lose last night and v Canberra.

A hooker won't come in and have that same match awareness, it will take time.

Look at the ladder behind us is all tight, A few losses puts us back in that chasing pack
I don’t think we lose last night without Api. We were winning the yardage game early in that game with Api on the bench; I think we lost a bit of line speed and intensity when Api first came on.

He set up two tries yes, but Kenny has a great engine and we have seen him set up pivotal tries late in games also.

Kenny has 1 career try.
4 career try assists in 55 games

Maybe he improves that but like stated above it will take time, In that some bad options to learn from it.

I appreciate Mitch is not Api, but he is going to be a very good hooker in our system. Saying that we lose last night without Api, with Mitch in his place isridiculous; how can anyone say that? Particularly given that Mitch was on for the first 20 and we were doing well in the areas he is responsible for.

And saying that if Api doesn’t play the 20 point victory versus Canberra would be reversed is Ricky level make believe.

Another fanboy post here and proud of it. Api could dominate like this every bloody week but he steps back and plays for the team with Nathan and Luai in the side.
Some people on here questioned his heart going into this year after he signed with Wests.......fmd don't those merkins look silly

We were down 6-0 struggling to get into the game.

Api does a great kick pins them in the corner, we force the mistake
Api scores that allowed us to then take control.

Similar happened in Round 2. We were treading water until the sin bin, During that sin bin he put 2 tries on.

That is the perfect role, it is why we can cover a couple of key guys out.

We have lost that ability to cover that with the key losses over the past 2 seasons

Penrith scored first last night.

You are as bad as Ricky; he said it was the ref that got us down their end. For you it is Api.

What actually happened in Canberra is we went down 6-0. On the next set of six after Canberra scoring (ie from the kick-off) their captain drops the ball cold on the second or third tackle. Canberra don’t touch it again before Api scores.

We won the game by 20 points. Api played well but wasn’t even the best player on the field; it was a fairly wide held view that Dyl was the best player in the night. Api was not the difference between winning and losing; very few individual players ever have that much influence on an individual game.

Let’s put it this way; given that Api will be playing for the West Tigers next year, do they make they 8? With such an amazing player who (in your eyes) is the difference between winning and losing, surely they are specials to make the 8?
