Mate I think Filiga could make a very good centre, he is big strong and had good footwork and he is a smart and hard defender. I am excited about the possibility of him staying on with out club past this year and if he is moved into wenty by the end of the year and a good offseason we could see him push for a NRL centre position. I know it is looking very far ahead but I am excited about our potential roster next year esp if guys like Matt Bell and Masada Iosefa can come across.
When he was at the bulldogs playing well, he was on the wing and thats where they thought he would play for his entire career.
But he has been playing in the centres now, and has been going very well there.
As you said i think he could make a good centre even winger, and im also excited about this signing.

I think good wingers need good acceleration which filinga would loss when he puts size on. Very rarley do you see someone who is a good winger and over 105kg (Eric, Vatuvi and Utai the expection but even then they struggle with the kicks in behind the line). Filinga would be of more use in the centres (IMO he is better than Idris who is slow) where he can utilise his defence and be destructive in attack. Filinga/Eric combo would be brutal IMO

Gees that sh*ts me,
We throw him a life line when no one wonts him and he pisses off with another club...seriously...

Mate doesnt have many years left and its not like he gained anything comming here, souths would have still had to pay out his contract either way. I thank him for his service and how he has played for parramatta and I hope the best for the future

Yeah your right,
Hopefully we are building up with all this money for another good signing!

Mate if we can snare Mat Bell and Isoefa, plus the signnings of Poore and Shackelton we will definatly have a good squad. With the loss of Galuvao aswell I would possibly imagine Cayless could play in the backrow.

Since parra is in the market for bargain buys what does everyone think about Michael Sullivan since we are on the lookout for a hooker. I know we are chasing Iosefa and he should be the first option but if talks break down maybe Sulivan could be a handy pick up. From what I know he's either injured or in the dogs reserve grade but he was a handy player at the sharks a few years ago.

The Sharks have continued their rebuilding program for next season with the signing of Penrith and PNG hooker Paul Aiton on a two-year deal. Aiton's recruitment follows the snaring of Tigers utility John Morris, Manly forward Adam Cuthbertson, in-demand Eels halfback Albert Kelly and his Parramatta teammate Broderick Wright. Meanwhile, Cronulla players are rallying around halfback Scott Porter after the sudden death of his mother, Sharon, on Wednesday.

Would assume that Iosefa wouldn't be coming unless Romelo or Iselin are seen as better long term options.
