McClenaghan makes his figures look great with a triple wicket maiden.

I say, again, Grant Elliott is so f**king ordinary it's not funny

4 balls, and he managed to look completely shot against them all - yes the last one swung, but what the f**k was the shot?

This crowd and the boxing day one were good - small capacity, and Christchurch hasn't had international cricket since the earthquake

On the up though, but at the end of the day, anything other than union is pretty much a hobby here

With spectators? league, would be my guess then cricket, netball, football - soccer has biggest participation with kids.

Brayshaw is going to love Corey Anderson - BIG STRONG MAN, LONG LEVERS, ALL THE TOYS, and hits the ball further than Mitch Marsh/Glenn Maxwell

Terrible shot - no doubt about it. He has to be bowling to justify his spot IMO. While we have good depth in our attack most of them have RPOs of over 5 - Mills would be the only pace bowler below that mark I believe?

I am okay with Elliott being in there to offer extra overs. As a specialist batsmen he doesn't have a place being in the team though - I expect him to average high 20s to 30. Another option could be to move Anderson into 5 and run with 5 specialist bowlers. Anderson isn't a 5 IMO - but if Elliott fails to contribute with the bat we won't be missing anything.

We are really reliant on one of Williamson and Taylor to contribute in every game.

We generally fill up our grounds for International T20 and ODIs and get a reasonable mob in for Test cricket.

Our domestic scene is all crickets and tumbleweeds though no matter how much they try to spruce it up, its depressingly bad.

There are 3 guys in that XI who I am not fans of. 2 of them did nothing to enhance their reputation (Guptill and Elliott). 1 of them was 1 of 2 blokes who won us the match- Anderson. Great innings.

Yeah, but with the exception of County Cricket, I don't think first class cricket draws crowds anywhere in the world. On a nice day, a county side might draw 5,000 but that's the top end.

Also, beyond the BBL, CPL and IPL I don't think stands are exactly overflowing in most countries for T20s either.

Guptill a cert though... I just don't get Elliott esp when you look at what other teams have at 5. I expect Latham will play if only because Elliott isn't good enough

I might be out there but for what he offers I'd play Vetorri and McCullum

Exactly. No-one in the world watches FC cricket. England do because there's more to their cricket then just the national team.

On Guptill, his position in the ODI team shouldn't be in question. He's a key player with the bat and in the field. He'll come right.

Elliott ahead of Neesham was a weird one. I know Neesham has been flat for the last little while in ODI's, but Elliott has had so many goes and never really fired.
