What if Jarryd Hayne doesn't make the 49ers cut? Will he return to the NRL?

If he misses out on being picked up by an NFL team, Jarryd Hayne won't be coming back to the NRL for less than $1.5 million a year.

Who will be able to afford him?

Cronulla

Although he might be scared of the 10 year old Cronulla fans attacking him after games.

If a guy from the US came over here and carved up in trial games against teams made up of players who would be in NSW cup or not playing at all it would be no different. That's the equivalent of what he's doing right now. He's making the most of his opportunity sure, but this Michael Jordan of Australia crap is just ridiculous.

Bloody embarrassing, someone even said he could be the biggest foreign star in US sports since Pele lmao. In soccer alone theres Pirlo, Gerrard, Lampard etc etc who are far bigger athletes worldwide than Hayne what a load of rubbish and don't even get me started on the foreign NBA players like Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Yao Ming etc.

Jarryd Hayne has the potential to become the biggest foreign celebrity sportsman to hit the US since Pele. He also has the good looks to become a babe magnet.

If he does get picked up, by the 49ers or by another team, expect him to get a US$5-10 million a year contract by year's end. He will be profiled in all the US sports magazines. He will then become the most famous former rugby league player in the history of the world.

Most ridiculous thing I've ever read.

Jarryd Hayne has achieved almost everything in the rugby league: he has played for NSW in State of Origin, and played for Australia, either as a full back, winger or centre. If he now is able to crack a spot in the NFL then he will be unique in the annals of Australian sport for his dual sport achievements. This is much more difficult than switching between rugby league and rugby union. Rugby League and American football are radically different sports, despite requiring some common skill sets. To be able to succeed in both sports requires incredible talent and mental fortitude.

If he does come back to rugby league at some point, then the NRL should grant him a special exemption to earn unlimited commercial sponsorships, because that is what he deserves, and the game will be better off for having him play it.

Or Parra fans can buy there own for 80 on the NFL website.

That is certainly the case.

But you have obviously overlooked a couple of issues.

The Hayne jersey is selling for US$99.95.

Postage is US$24.95.

Convert to Australian dollars, and you're up for a grand tidy sum of AU$176.40.

So your $80 is looking a little skinny.

Found some very cheap, blank 49ers jerseys.
Can get 50-100.
Printed cheap.
Surely could flog em off.
Profit?

Having made a switch from National level basketball to being a halfback in local first grade, I appreciate how tough it can be. Granted NFL and NRL are more elite but it's not easy and I wish him well.

Who the f**k is Pele?

Never heard of him

Dave Pele, who was born in Darwin, was a former full back for Canberra Raiders, who played in the pre-Meninga era, won the Dally M three times, and eventually got signed by the Dallas Cowboys, where he won MVP 17 times in an illustrious career. Pele's success is what boosted US tourism to Australia for many years, and got him a Cowboys contract of US$23 million a year and multi-million dollar sponsorships. There is a statue of him outside the Canberra Stadium.
