    Eels Big Win

I am not an Eels supporter but they have my admiration for a real gutsy effort in last night's game against a very good Bulldogs team. The goal line defense was unbelievable and their fans should be very proud of them.

    Scott Prince a Diver ?

Coaster, I was not disputing the correctness of the penalty. Including you,we agree that Prince did milk the penalty so the answer to my question is YES he is a diver. He would never replace Craig Gower as the Prince Of Divers.

    Scott Prince a Diver ?

I was surprised to see the stay down on the late tackle last night. The commentators were unanimous that it was clearly a penalty milker and a successful one.

Reason for Golden Point Draw Breaker?

Hass, I'm sure, if there was a poll, 90% would agree with you on all counts

Reason for Golden Point Draw Breaker?

I thank you for all this information re the origin of the Golden Point. I agree with Ian Heads that there should be a rethink because a big majority of fans would vote to dump the rule.

Reason for Golden Point Draw Breaker?

Returning to my original question, WHO was the driving force persuading the League to change the rule after 100 years ? It is obvious that the majority of fans were happy with the 80 minute game and the 2 points being shared.

Reason for Golden Point Draw Breaker?

I agree that it makes sense for games that need a result and that has always been the case in finals. I'm happy with Origin being a draw. To change the system in the season after all these years does not make sense.

Reason for Golden Point Draw Breaker?

Could someone remind me why this was introduced ? It seems to me that it is fair for teams finishing on equal points after 80 minutes to share the spoils and each get a point on the ladder. Any comments ?

    Stewart salute reveals double standards

Stuart DID say that Manly mentioned Bird's lies to the police was significant but, like Brett Stewart, this is an allegation yet to be decided by the courts. It would be nice if some Manly supporters posted an indication that Sticky has a case, but up to date, there has been solid support for...

Four Broncos cleared of sex assault allegations

Watching Hunt and Boyd on Ch 9 news they admit they have brought shame on themselves and are sorry for the grief they have imposed on their close relatives. We can dispense with this " media beat up " approach. There was no way the Queensland police were going to charge them but it is...

Greg Bird charged and released by Sharks

I have just read the article again. He told his mates that he had explored the prospect of linking with the Roosters. The Roosters recruitment manager played down the prospect and said " Maybe with a clean bill of health, but, at the moment, there is no chance." The " clean bill of health...

Greg Bird charged and released by Sharks

Today's Telegraph reports that friends of Greg Bird reveal that he will be sounding out the Roosters on his path to redemption. I would say that the bookies will give long odds.

Hunt and Boyd in the World Cup.

You are entitled to your opinion but I think a poll would show you to be outvoted. That is my opinion.

Hunt and Boyd in the World Cup.

I never made any accusation of criminal guilt. It has not been denied by Hunt, Thaiday and Boyd that they were in the men's toilet with the woman who made the complaint. It is my opinion, which you do not have to share, that this was a grubby act and deserves censure.

Hunt and Boyd in the World Cup.

After Danny Wiedler revealed last night that the ARL were tipped that there will be NO charges against the trio in the men's toilet with a female they have been chosen to represent Australia. If this conduct is acceptable to the Broncos and the ARL I'm a poor judge about what is considered...

Alan Jones on Easts 1975 GF Score

I should have mentioned in my original posting that Alan Jones did not initiate the subject but was responding to one of his listeners. Manly's big score was always going to be compared with the 1975 score with only 2 points difference.

Alan Jones on Easts 1975 GF Score

Every team has been beaten by huge margins but it is unusual in a Grand Final. In most cases the game matches the 2 best teams in the comp and the 75 and 08 margins are extraordinary. It has been 33 years since 1975 and it is probable it will be many years before there is a repeat. No one can...

Alan Jones on Easts 1975 GF Score

I think you are hoping that the flogging handed out to the Storm will make RL fans forget about the 38-0 flogging of St. George. I can assure you that the 1975 result is set in cement so there is no need for anyone to be reminded.

Alan Jones on Easts 1975 GF Score

And what are your credentials ? I will resist trading insults.

Alan Jones on Easts 1975 GF Score

Easts scored 8 tries as did Manly and converted 7 of them. Manly will have the official record of 40-0 but unofficially the 1975 win had more merit.
