    The Difference Between 'Alleged' and 'Charged'

    People found " NOT GUILTY '' in court often hold press conferences to celebrate that their innocence has been established. I understand that , in Scottish courts, there are only 2 results. These are GUILTY or NOT PROVEN. I think this says it all. I am referring to criminal charges only.

    It was reported that Lockyer said " I do not believe it was me ". I hope this is not like the well used politition statement " I can't recall " which allows an out if positive proof emerges

    Lockyer had no right to lay a hand on the publican and he knows it. It was never reported that any damage was done to the publican.

    I am not a Broncos fan but I admire Lockyer as one of the best ever players. However, being in the company of drunken players helping themselves to bottled liquor and throwing money for payment does not fit his role model reputation. Even putting his hands on the publican is not acceptable...

    Hunt would not be fighting this charge if he risked a 2 week suspension. Someone jokingly suggested the Broncos will try to get Souths cardiologist to help. Remember Anasta getting king hit by Fa'logo?

    Hampstead thought it was serious enough to send the player off and was asking Harrigan to agree. This was a show of weakness on the ref's part and indicated his reluctance to make a decision involving a player with an international profile.

    In this morning's Herald it was reported that Hampstead told video ref Harrigan that he was " thinking send off for the lifting tackle" but was told to give a penalty and put it on report. I wonder whether Morley, Crocker etc would have received this gentle treatment. Oh yeah.

    I did not think the Coffs Harbour affair would be back on the agenda again. However, if we are to believe that nothing happened and the alleged victim told a pack of lies, why all the turmoil within the club and the exit of senior administrators including the much admired Steve Mortimer ?
