    Carlaw is going the way of Meyers - good start to his career but has fallen away badly. I think he needs to spend some time in the QLD cup to try and regain some confidence. Parker, Thaiday and Costigan deserve spots on the bench before him at the moment.

    Top 8 is perfect for 16 teams. AFL does it and it works well. I think the NRL should adopt a similar format to the AFL (1v4, 2v3, loser gets a second chance, 5v8, 6v7, losers eliminated). Making it to a top 5 would essentially eliminate 3 sides who are equal on points with 5th, or are only 1...

    Gold Coast=WRONG!

    Rugby League in Australia has had great benefit from the merger of Balmain-Wests and St George-Illawarra. It was better for some of these sides to merge and keep their identity in some form in the national competition, rather than die off.
