The Bears still alive and fighting for re-admittance!

Er, that's what you took from that ?? :? I said fans don't just start following another team. If you think they do you are wrong. The odd one might (and you) but not in general. The Bears from memory contributed at least 6m, I think a lot more towards the stadium in Gosford. Now You can...

    Adelaide Sharks?

Timah, Do you know if this is on the net, ? I cant see it on their site. Cheers.

    Adelaide Sharks?

It's stupid because it's a sweeping statement. Of course most Norths fans would still support the Bears. Does that mean that because there aint twenty grand at NSO for home games, their supporters are somehow not true supporters. Try keeping a premier league club afloat financially and...

The Bears still alive and fighting for re-admittance!

One of the benefits of the Central Coast Bears is that it will reconnect the code with the North Shore. Why isn't this market as important as any other ?? The numbers game doesent wash, it creates disenchanted fans and kills off a market. Fans dont just start following another team. I...

The Bears still alive and fighting for re-admittance!

They moved there initially before the CRL booted them out after the NRL did. Currently the Central Coast has a financial relationship with the Melbourne Storm that has the Central Coast Storm playing in the NSW Cup. I believe they would love to be playing there now and are probably looking...

The Bears still alive and fighting for re-admittance!

Who of course would want a tennant for the non A league season........ as a stadium rights holder.

The Bears still alive and fighting for re-admittance!

I agree to a point, however the Melbourne Storms agreement with the Central Coast Storm may cause a problem as far as having the Bears there before they returned to the NRL. I don't know.

The Bears still alive and fighting for re-admittance!

Good Question, From what I know we would still be playing there now if the CRL hadn't booted us when we got booted from the NRL. From what I understand the preference was to stay there.

The Bears still alive and fighting for re-admittance!

I think they mean 1 a year or one every two years.

The Bears still alive and fighting for re-admittance!

It is not in Sydney. The Bears are doing their best with the local juniors , the battle is hard without the existence of an NRL team. Relocate who ?? No-one wants to go there except the Bears who raised the money to build the stadium as they wanted to move to the Central Coast. Yes I agree...

Questions re Perth and Adelaide (and Wellington for that matter)

I think that we have a bet, and that you would be shocked if the Coast ever gets a team (esp the Bears) at the drawing power of those 2 adjoining regions having a team.

Expansion in the next 10 years: Discussing the merits of each team

I think Central Coast Bears would have to be a decent shout. Gallop said it was a close decison last time. Howver after all the good and common sense and benefits continue to be shown, it will likely come down to a no from Politis and co who will continue to exclude us.

For the North Sydney Bears fans.....

    1) If there is any, what effect has the North Sydney Bears not being in the NRL anymore had on your life (emotionally)? Obviously, if you were more of a diehard fan, it would hurt even more. Hit family hard as it dominted our spare time & discussion at meals etc, still leaves very bitter taste...

    Expansion 10 years away: Gallop

Yeah, Gallop also said not so long ago that bringing the Central Coast Bears in would reconnect the code with the North Shore and heal the last wound from the war by including the Bears (after they were the only team who missed out after the rationalisation process). Then after the Gold...

State of League on the North Shore

Also a lot of Bears fans on the Northern Beaches as well, but hey that was the game we looked forward to most playing Manly. (we still play them in Premier League). I must point out the NSDRLFC is still the governing area in the district, and we feed Souths so there is a pathway - Just...

State of League on the North Shore

Lost on some. Yes the Bears were moving to the coast, buit they still would've been representing the North Shore. And to the person who suggested popping down to Brooky to catch a game; ??? Well I don't know where to begin... I live within walking distance of that ground and have all my...
