Man the effects of Covid in the medium term are interesting hey? Some people like me have persistent symptoms for months or even years after, some people get full on long Covid, and every single West Australian apparently became super emotional and easily upset....

Bancroft would do well to ignore all the talk in the press about his non-selection and focus on scoring more runs.

WA have won the shield two years running and currently sit 2nd. Its alot easier to perform as an individual when you have a good team around you. No reason he can't continue to score runs and press his case.

Smith hasn't played an innings as an opener and Khawaja hasn't got long to go. Jury is out on Renshaw. The opportunity is still there if he really wants it. Otherwise can sook about it like his brethren in the press.

10 tests and a scrap of sandpaper to his name. That's enough to sell a book post-retirement.

Yeah but isnt Cameron Green from Whinge Australia. So its not like we have completely ignored them.

Bancroft isnt up to it and the fact he mouthed off again in the press saying a specialist opener should be replacing Warner before the squad was announced did him even more harm.

Interesting stat I saw this morning on the socials about Steve Smith.

He has scored the fourth most runs in Test cricket in the world since 1 Jan 2022 - 1900 odd at 49.

Really puts his greatness in perspective IMO. Any other cricketer with that record over 2 years would be going gangbusters. Yet there's talk that Smith has lost it with a record most Test bats would chew your arm off for.

No way on earth are you opening with a keeper. Green needs to bat in the top 4. This is the perfect chance we have 2 tests here and in NZ against weaker opposition lets get Green at 4, Smith can open he's batted enough 3 in the past.

Well after Bancroft was publically omitted from the squad, Renshaw was the most likely to come in over Harris.

I really hope Green performs, still only 24 and his whole career ahead of him. Also gives us options moving forward on a turning deck with Marsh and Green able to bowl, although I think Green is a better bowler yet March did the job against the Pakis. This allows us to drop a quick and play 2 spinners and still have 4 quicks.

Marsh bowls at mid 120s yet Green can hit 140 regularly. So many options with this squad.
