i hope for nsw's sake that terry campese gets some game time this series. He should be nsw 5/8th next season if his form holds true...

He might get some time from the bench. He has better utility value then gids. Imo if kurt wasn't pick as a fullback he shouldn't have been picked at all. I dont rate him in any other position. Awesome fullback but not a utilities arsehole. Campo can play lock, halves, centre and even2nd row at a pinch

But he can't play fullback or hooker, which is what Gidley is there for in case Smith or Stewart go down. I don't rate Gidley as a hooker at all, but that's what he's there for.

What are you on?
Kurt can play any position from 1 to 7 and also 9 at a firstgrade standard.
When he played halfback he was being considered for NSW in that position.
if push came to shove he could probably do a fair job at lock as well.

Except that Cross has averaged more metres and more tackles per game than Perry this season, with limited fitness. Sort've a prop's main role in a team...

perry has averaged more minuted per game, and isnt injury prone. the difference in tackles is negligible with cross having .03 more per game. perry has averaged almost 100 metres, 99.11, corss has average just under 90 with 89.36. cross has avergaed more missed tackles, has a negligible advanatge in hitups (again .03) but averages 1.3 less average runs, and cross also has an advataneg in offloads averaging 1 more a game. so a lot of what you said was just wrong, and these stats point to perry having a better season and even if they were even who was going to make the squad, the premiership prop or the prop whos team missed the 8?

Slater has been the form fullback of the year, i really can't see why Stewart should dip in ahead of him after one game.

Slater
Stewart
Inglis
Folau
Tate
Lockyer
Thurston
Kite
Smith
Civoniceva
Crocker

Fitzgibbon

Laffranchi

I'm pretty dissappointed that Cronk didn't make the squad but at least Hunt wasn't picked.

perry has averaged more minuted per game

So he makes less metres and less tackles even though he's on the field longer? Understandably Cross's match fitness was down, I thought that went without saying. There's a reason he was playing his best footy at the end of the season when he strung four games together.

and isnt injury prone

This is rep footy, what's your point?

the difference in tackles is negligible with cross having .03 more per game.

I think you'll actually find Cross averaged 24 compared to Perry's 20.

perry has averaged almost 100 metres, 99.11, corss has average just under 90 with 89.36.

Wrong again. Cross averaged 109.11.

I know what stats you're reading from, but they've said Cross played 11 games which he didn't. They included two games he didn't play in.

cross has avergaed more missed tackles

Yep I'll give that.

has a negligible advanatge in hitups (again .03)

Again, no. Cross averaged 10.5 hitups per game, Perry averaged less than 9.

but averages 1.3 less average runs

Nope, Cross averaged 12.4 and Perry averaged 11.8

and cross also has an advataneg in offloads averaging 1 more a game.

Yep

so a lot of what you said was just wrong

No, you just don't research what you're told.

and these stats point to perry having a better season

But now that Cross's stats have been proven to be better, did Cross have the better season?

and even if they were even who was going to make the squad, the premiership prop or the prop whos team missed the 8?

The better prop, you'd hope.

I think Stewarts form has picked up dramatically in the last 2 months, he has probably been in better form than Slater recently.

But then over the whole year, Slater has been very good.

Whoever gets it will be brilliant, there's not much seperating them at all.

I got the stats from nrl.com., if they are wrong then its not my fault I can only comment on what I saw. Based on those stats the things you were saying were wrong, so if thats not the case then I apologise.

and as for the last comment I said even if they were even who would you pick, which implies neither are better.

Yeah, as I said they're wrong.

and as for the last comment I said even if they were even who would you pick, which implies neither are better.

I'm happy for Perry to be picked, I was his biggest fan at Newcastle. But for you to say Perry "shat on Cross" this season when the stats prove the opposite, is a bit rich. I've had both of them at my club, and I know which one I'd prefer.

bullsh*t, queensland got jibbed again!

**edit - i should explain

12 qld's and 12 nsw's, if nsw dominated origin for the last three years like qld did it would be 75% nsw players, but because it's queensland we only get 50%, where is sam thaiday? he's a better player then glenn stewert, also k hunt is a better utility then gidley, i'm assuming they only missed out becasue of pending investigations???

From a Queensland point of view, the rip off at Australian rep level continues. Despite winning three years in a row, Queensland again is in the minority of representatives, continuing a tradition that has lasted since who knows when ...

This is bias selections in the highest order! How many series wins do Queensland need to win to gain a higher representation? Six, seven, eight??? Double figures is my guess!

And who missed out? Thaiday for a start. Hannant and Myles have played more consistent football than Perry.

That didnt take very long

...and 50% is a minority now?

I think he would do OK at lock but the rest are a write off, aside from his specialist position at fullback'
dont get me wrong, he is a world class player at fullback and one of the best in the world at #1, but he isnt worth a pinch of sh*t at hooker or half, you'd almost be better off throwing a front rower in those positions before Kurt Giddley
Have never seen him at wing or centre so i cant comment on those spots
And i dont think he offers enough versatilty or impact to warrent a bench spot under the tag "utility"

Gidley was useless in Origin. Provided absolutely nothing off the bench. Didn't even look like worrying the defence. Fitzgibbon's inclusion is just laughable.
