Cummins, Sage and Puddy have expressed interest. The WA Gov is keen. Perth is the only non-RL city that has a chance of fielding a team within the next 20 years. Whether it comes to fruition is up for debate, but there's genuine interest. Adelaide is a pie on the sky idea that is at least 20 years from being viable.

If Adelaide is such a pie-in-the-sky idea that's 20 years from being viable, then how did the Rams manage to make decent crowds & a profit, despite being a "thrown together" last-minute team to make up the numbers in Superleague?

The Rams promising start suggests to me that there's a latent market there - and a latent market that was already there about 25 years ago, not one that's 20 years from now.

The AFL could have a bunch of teams in small regional markets as well if they wanted, but they know that money and market share is built around the five major markets in this country.

The Bombers logo was Charles Kingsford Smith, who was a famous aviator from Brisbane, and I'd bet that I threw it out there that instead of the name Bombers, which everybody hated because it's the same as Essendon, that they could keep their branding (that's actually pretty cool) by trying something like the Cleveland Browns and name the team the Smiths, or something similar, after Kingsford Smith himself.

The AFL are only allowing Tasmania into the league because the TAS gov has backed them into a corner, and even then they've thrown as many hurdles as possible in front of the team.

You're delusional if you truly believe that the NRL is 'dominating' the AFL.
