He's a likeable guy who's obviously eager to succeed, if anything a bit too much so.
I really do hope this isn't all he is.

Sounds like the club is looking after him and his dad which is a good sign he's happy.

Massive nod to Cappy too;
Cappy [McFadden] has to take a lot of the credit for how far the side has come recently and the decision to put him in charge was just about the best thing the club could have done in terms of taking us to the next level. He's an intelligent bloke, he knows exactly what he wants and it's been obvious how he has made a difference since taking the helm.

As soon as he starts pining for Wigan and saying it publicly, you know how this is going to end.

Few bad weeks (next year at the earliest), the Warriors line up a decent replacement, they'll let him go 'on compassionate grounds' and it'll all be deemed a failure.

He's a pro, he'll want to see out the contract if possible but the pull to return home will be too great - and I imagine we won't mind too much if he doesn't find a consistent spark through the back-end of the season given we'll have a lot more cap room to work with.

Nice to see him speaking his mind, naturally there was going to be a bit of home-sickness and it wasn't going to be all magic and roses when making a move this big.

That said its pretty apparent he's not going to stay for long, once his contract is up he's gone burger imo.
Time to plan for another option.

even if he went, i would say it was good for the reason that it meant the poisonous Locke was forced out of the team. Locke was a great player but there is just no room for that kind of lack of professionalism etc.

I don't see Tomkins bailing out early. I won't be surprised if he leaves once his contract is up, but he's a guy who is supposed to be world class, he's challenging himself down here in the NRL and if he just bails out early it's pretty much conceding that he couldn't hack it in the top league.

With any luck by the time he does go, Fusitua will be ready to rock at the back.

He won't bail early, but he's pretty much spelled it out that his Warriors days are numbered.

Bit disappointing but hopefully Fish/Fusitua/SomeoneElse will be set to fill in those boots.
I do get the feeling that the Warriors bought him expecting more than two seasons.

Wishful thinking on your part

WTF? should I make an insightful truism like you've been making recently... something like "If Tomkins really wants to go home and the Warriors are agreeable then he'll probably go home" that more to your liking champ?

I couldn't give a shit to be honest, he's been ok, very good tonight, but the Eels were horrible

He's a long way from home, and he's the one saying he's missing home, not me... if he is, and he's not happy then there's a fair chance he will look at heading home early - I don't see that as unprofessional, any slight on him, that's just being human... I wouldn't think it would happen soon, but the pull of home of often strong

If you'd like to try your hand at insightful truisms, be my guest. It sure beats flying off the handle at innocuous comments.

Mate you are wasting your time. If you go against the popular consensus, you don't know what you're talking about..

You obviously don't get your info from Vossy and the spayed dog....
