Sir Teddy: 29 runs, 285 run metres, 67 post contact metres, 6 tackle breaks and 1 line break.

Definitely his fault NSW lost.

Meanwhile his garbage halves couldn't muster a single line break or line break assist between them.
Yet he was the captain. What happened?

Freddy’s game management was dire tonight, but if he were to go you just know they’d replace him with someone like Barrett. Qld were the better team tonight, NSW had their chance to win it in the first half but instead went in 2 point up.

If you picked Cleary up and dropped him into all the utter garbage NSW sides Pearce was a member of he’d have got his arse kicked too.

Cleary lost this series with 2 absolutely terrible games in game 1 and 3
What was Cleary meant to do when his team was pinned in their own half for most of the last 40?

it was guys like Tupou, Talakai, Crichton that led to NSW being pinned their with their errors. What can Cleary do?

whilst Pearce was poor for NSW he had to contend with 4 other players wanting to be the guy. Whenever NSW got a head of steam up the ball would always go to Bird, Gallen or Hayne, or Farah would just go himself. If Cook, Tedesco, Yeo & Murray all had the power to override a Cleary call he would probably be pretty useless too

Even then, a player like JT would go awfully quiet if the Maroons forward pack was dominated.

They didn't get much of a chance to get any rhythm tonight (especially in the second half) because of errors that killed off that momentum when NSW were coming out of their half.
But that's not what happened tonight. The blues pack wasn't dominated and the blues had the momentum for the majority of the match.
And replace him with who?
Anyone. This isn't the NRL where coaches make that much of a difference, NSW have a big advantage we just need someone who doesn't f**k up dramatically.
Having to create shit from own half isn't eaay

The NSW pack dominated the game for longer than the QLD one did. There were huge portions of the game where we were absolutely rolling QLD making huge metres with them pinned in their own half out on their feet. We simply couldn't capitalise on that momentum. Scoring only 2 tries despite piling on constant pressure in the first half wasn't enough.

Dumbest selection of all time
The guys a spud
If there was a media selection, this guy was it. I think it was against Manly in the wet he had one of those kissed on the dick games. The hype continued but the form didn't continue. I was puzzled at his selection, or maybe Freddy isn't as "independent" as he seems. Maybe if he simply has the one job, and say for instance, coach the Tigers during the year, he wouldn't have as much time in overthinking things.

TBH I always hate how people like to act like those players were terrible for NSW. Like i get that we lost a lot of series in a row but f**k that QLD was just straight up BS in terms of how good it was. They were stacked with players that will go down as all time greats. Despite that we usually came so close to winning those series and then everyone would act like the NSW team was absolute horseshit.

A lot of NSW player from that period including Pearce were underrated IMO.

Fitler is not irreplaceable.

Not saying the driblers who appoint the nsw coach would pick anyone better though... they'd probably pick a former fullback since Slater worked for the strummers this series.
I've never suggested he is.

But I don't want to see Freddy axed only to be replaced with somebody who thinks Origin is just like the NRL and all you need to do is go hardcore on game-plans/ tactics with no consideration given to the psychological side of the game. This is why Gus was so successful because he had both these abilities.
