    D day for Parramatta

Breaking news - Danny Weidler has just tweeted that Ian Schubert will be reporting to the NRL that the Eels are Cap compliant as of today.

the new Pride of the League

Why would anyone care about a self-bestowed title? I don't see fans from any other club calling Souths the 'pride of the league'. If they want the title so badly let them have it... I don't really care because in the end the self-imposed title is meaningless as how can it have any meaning to...

Alex McKinnon possibly Quadriplegic - Mclean guilty of dangerous throw - 7 weeks

The outcome of this tackle and the resulting injury clearly shows that it's time to draw a line in the sand in relation to lifting tackles. Maybe the NRL's reaction to such tackles in the past has been a little grey when it should have been black and white. In my opinion, it's just been pure...

Alex McKinnon possibly Quadriplegic - Mclean guilty of dangerous throw - 7 weeks

The bottom line is that the tackle was wrong, it was illegal and it will be punished. The lifting law as originally brought in many years ago to try to prevent exactly what happened last night. accidental or not, the injury to Alex McKinnon clearly highlights the fact that this type of tackle...

Hayne has a fine coming his way

Well, the way I see it, to call the refs cheats is calling into question their integrity = bringing the game into disrepute = $10,000 fine. To call the refs performance in the Parra-Manly game disgraceful is questioning their performance = the truth = no fine. Nice and simple.

    Offseason Rule Change Idea #1

A strip penalty should only be classsed as a strip when it is physically reefed out of a players grasp and not tapped out because of a loose carry. Make the bloody attacking players hold onto the ball and not give them a leg up for sloppy ball control. Hate that!

If wrestling in tackles was abolished...

Last night you could clearly hear the Pommie Referee yell "MOOVE" after several seconds in every tackle. Commented to a few friends also watching the game and they all agreed that it was clear that the players were listening and obeying the call. Made for a pretty good spectacle I thought. Now...

    Lewis vs Kenny

Saw both play from the start of their career to the end. Can honestly say that I cannot split the two of them. Both totally different style of players. Both brillant at what they did best. Two images stand out in my mind that refect their differences. One was Wally taking on the whole NSW team...

Clubs in fight for bigger slice of NRL's TV pie

I suggest the 53% of the TV Revenue is an ambit claim. The Clubs are smart enough to know that you have to go in big at first when seeking a cut of the pie if you want something even remotely decent.

Some soft prick claims RL is leagalised thuggery

I don't agree with banning more than two in the tackle but surely we can outlaw the third or fourth man in who launches himself at a player who's momentum has been stopped and who is defenceless. That, in my opinion, is more likely to lead to serious injuries.

Hindmarsh insists Eels' season isn't lost

Hi Guys, first time poster, long time lurker. Not one to embrace modern technology. Old timer with old fashioned views. Just thought I would bump this bump this thread considering the situation the Eels now find themselves in. It was a dark period of 2009 and the despair that all Eels...

Would you dump the code if your club folded?

I guess the question must be asked as a rugby league supporter is whether or not you would like to have half of something or a lot of nothing. I'm sure if you speak to North Sydney & Newtown supporters they would still rather have some sort of presence in the main competion rather than acting as...

The two clubs in serious danger of collapse - Tele

As a Parramatta Supporter I start to salivate when I start to think of a "super" club in the western suburbs called the Parramatta-Penrith Panthers. With two large Leagues clubs behind them and two massive junior area combined, such a club would have a dynamic future IMHO. I for one would like...
