I’m pleased we stayed in the game & competed strongly in the 2nd half after a mediocre 1st half.We r definitely on an upwards trajectory. We were denied a chance to win the game by that diabolical decision by the detestable cheat Sutton who continues to display a profound hatred for us as is evident by our abysmal record when the lowlife refs us.A special mention to the abject incompetence of Sullivan. How the fk he got that lucrative contract underscores the toxic influence of unethical player managers on the game.Ive got no doubt we don’t recruit the lemon if Richo was in charge at the time.
Sullivan has NFI. He is very far from being NRL standard. He would even struggle in England.

Our supporters really want to shit can this dude asap. I agree that we need an upgrade on Tupou in that position beyond this year and Im all for him leaving. But, he is clearly our best option at wing at this very point in time.

Naden is an absolute athlete.....but my god, he has two glaring weaknesses when it comes to his wing play. One is his hands, two is the high ball and his composure there in the big moments of a match. I simply would shit my pants atm if we had to field him there for a must-win game.

I did hear he had a blinder in NSW Cup the week before. Hopefully, he builds on it.
I watched Nado and his performance against reserve graders wasn't that great and he said he's not ready.
If someone has to replace Junior it would be a specialist wing and that would be Lobb. I don't know is he can play his non-preferred left wing though.
I just finished watching tv game and I thought big Stef was excellent and Papali'i tried hard all night, Salad showed some real classy touches.

They looked a bit tired from the get go which is understandable after Monday...good thing is the errors were pretty glaring so there's fixable stuff to work on through the week...the same as it was for Manly this last week. Thing is now to not drop their heads ..reset and put it behind them..they'll be more of that to do yet. Having John Morris there is reassuring

Mate it was seriously hot and humid. I was very close to the sideline and you could see the sweat pooring off them, including me ha ha.
The dolphins play and train up here so they're used to it.
I'm not making excuses but it was a contributing factor imo.

I don't buy short turn around as an excuse. Teams used to play mid week games and I never remember hearing that before. We need to get rid of cop out excuses and just expect the boys to give 100% every time. Coaches need to start doing this too if not already done.

It won’t be an excuse, but it was a factor, especially with the injuries, but the Dolphins had injuries as well and they played better than us, when it mattered.

Re: mid week comp
exert from Wikipedia on Amco cup
The competition was scrapped after the increasingly professional clubs resented the additional burdens on their players caused by the mid-week games.

The boys looked a little off the pace from the start, the short turn around may had something to do with that, but to their credit they rebounded well in the second half. A couple of things went against us but unlike previous years the team kept fighting which shows good signs for the future.

Agree, I just finished the highlights reel on Kayo, for a couple of their tries, we looked fatigued, but credit to them to take advantage of it.

Now I’ve had a moment to sober up and reflect, our boys weren’t great tonight, but I still think Sutton stole the game from us when Api caught the marker out and the ball was stripped. At that point we had the momentum and had gained some sort of ascendency. It was a massive turn around moment at 14-10 we had them on toast. The was no doubt that marker was offside and took part in the play. It should have been a Tigers penalty/6 more and we’d have been pressing their line to make it 14 all. It was massive moment in that game and I can’t believe it’s not been talked about, I’d love to hear the refs take on it. In any case it’s a loss and we should be trying to play well enough to take away the potential influence of a bad call.

Too bad the useless imbecile sullivan had already wasted our challenge
