We'd heard this over and over again last year from you..

Bout needing to cover a back if they go down.

For the 10-15% chance it happens it's not worth covering that position with a player all year... statistically way more likely to get a hia or injury in the forwards.

If a back gets an injury you just have to reshuffle and deal with it.

Salmon can't cover centre anyway. Way way to slow

Yet 16 other teams run with a forward who can play in backs or a straight out back.

Salmon did and it cost us the Souths game

Takeaways -

1. handling errors and bad passes, geez the entire squad of nrl nsw cup and jersey flegg should be put through basic drills and passing catching practise until their hands are sore this week. Elementary mistakes and fundamentals not up to scratch at times. Can’t be blaming weather on this as it’s been happening far too often this season.

2. Closing out games. Field goal, you’re in position at the depth up by 6. Take the FG and seal it. That could’ve been disastrous. Luai needed to take the ownership there he was right in front.

3. Cogger, he did ok. His passes were ok and his kicking decent. Not sure if there’s a long kick in his duffel bag but his bombs on the line were pretty good. Is he an out and out half? Not sure.

4. Kenny, did ok for 80min game. Can bash blokes abilities from pillar to post but he held his own. Some bad choices but also some good choices and admirable service.

I didn’t watch the nsw cup game so not sure now the side went there.

Cleary, hope it’s a short term injury but it could pay dividends overall for panthers (if they jag wins) by seasons end.

It was good to see no one really panic when Cleary went off. I remember when he did that spear tackle on Dylan Brown last year and they looked all at sea. I thought they did well tonight in that respect.

St George we’re also much better than they have been so far this year!!
Nah St George have been about that good all year. They've had a few blow-outs but most of their losses have been close. Theyre an average team finding a way to lose regularly. Kind of the inverse of the Raiders.

Garner playing well is what we need really

They even need to get on.

tonight

Leota 36 mins
Martin 43 mins
Leinu 29 mins
Smith 21 mins.

The 21 mins can be absorbed by the top 3. Hell even Kenny plays middle when Luke plays.

What was the score when Turuva got that high shot 18 all?

If the bunker sends him off for a HIA. We finish the game with a middle in the centres.

It is that easy nowdays to lose a back

The age of their side is behind that

NSW Cup was ok. A good team performance no real stand outs but class got the job done

The Dragons were up for it, as was to be expected, half a dozen losses this season by six or less sums up their season. Win four or so of the close losses there on the fringe of the eight.

It was a hard fought contest tonight, good sides get the job done and we did enough to get the two points.

Cogger did really well given his unexpected introduction into the game and his kick leading to the To’o try on the stroke of half time was critical. I thought his kicking game was very good.

A few of our attacking sets inside the Dragons 20 metre zone were awful and we really didn’t offer any threat.

All in all it was a good day for the club, won all three grades, even if we were far from perfect in any of the three.
