    Are Souths doing it again

All this news has got me thinking about how comfortable I will be next year when I turn up to a game late and still have a spare 70 000 seats to pick from rather than the usual 30 000

should nrl teams be in the challenge cup?

SL is crap and boring, the only good thing about it is the very passionate crowds. Put our Premier League teams in those stadiums and we will see a much more higher standard game. As for the Heineken Cup, of course it would not sell out, what else would you expect from an all French final...

    So is Benji overrated????

Why the hell are we talking about whether a 20 year old kid is over-rated ? Benji Marshall is a talented young footballer with a sublime step, but has also shown the attribute of being injury prone. Todd Carney has yet to show me anything special, but yet again, we are talking about another...

AFL confirmed for the GC - what does this mean for us?

Nothing really to worry about. The AFL were always going to be looking for alternate AFL venues around the country for next year due to the Commonwealth Games being held at the MCG next year. Gold Coast was always going to be one of the venues as it is the only citiy in Australia with the...

should nrl teams be in the challenge cup?

This is one of the worst ideas put forward this year. Clubs already whinge about having to play the WCC and their players spending too much time on the Tri-Nations trip, what makes you think the would want waste a week of NRL football and ruin their preparation for the following week, to go...

matty johns, ian thorpe had words at logies?

I just recently bought a Best of Norman Gunston dvd from one of those $10 tables at the local shopping centre. The funniest man I have ever seen. The interview with Keith Moon of The Who, with Moon calling him a f#$king Aussie wanker, and carrying on about how Australia is a nation of...

Blues role to keep Anasta in league

If he wants to go kicking balls into touch for the rest of his life, then so be it, he is no big loss for RL. Has arguably been the most overated player in the NRL over the past few years, until being overtaken by Craig Fitzgibbon this year, and has only started to show some sort of form...

Parramatta - Under achievers or just an ordinary side??

The two most important stats in these games. Parramatta L and Parramatta L. I am not doubting Tim Smith's potential, just that a Tim Smith and John Morris halves pairing looks very weak compared to most other teams pairings.

Parramatta - Under achievers or just an ordinary side??

Stats mean close to nothing in a game, especially if you are a back or halve. Tim Smith was virtually non-existant in both the losses to Souths and Cronulla, both games in which Parramatta would have counted as games they should win.

    The Patten or Hodgson Poll

Patten is a good club fullback, but not good enough to make the rep game. Hodgson is a very good fullback who has proved himself as a solid rep player. Hodgson would be the one I rate as the better one.

Parramatta - Under achievers or just an ordinary side??

Me being the dumb one    Club bias is one thing, but surely you have to see that this partnership is one of the worst in the NRL. John Morris is a decent utility player and Tim Smith is an inexperienced half who has struggled for 2 of his 3 weeks in first grade. Off...

Old Man Mick Stone And his 1992 rule book

The problem was that Perenara lifted his arm and advanced the ball over the try line. If Perenara had just kept his arm in the same position and allowed for his momentum to carry his body over it would have been a try.

Parramatta - Under achievers or just an ordinary side??

There are two major problems with this Eels team which will cost the club any chance of a realistic title shot. 1- All great teams need a top class halves pairing. Parramatta just do not have one. The pairing of John Morris and Tim Smith has got to be one of the worst pairings in the NRL...

    Minichello vs Slater for test

Minichiello will be the fullback for Aus, while Billy Slater will most probably find himself on a wing. The more important matter for me is, who is going to play in the 2nd row ? I feel that a back-row comprising of Hindmarsh, Ryan, Fitzgibbon and Carroll, whichever 3 are picked, is not...

Who will be the QLD Origin Halfback?

Brett Seymour without doubt will be the QLD Origin number 7, withstanding any injuries of-course.

Who will be the QLD Origin Fullback?

I think they will have to go with Slater due to their enormous depth they have in the three-quater line. They just have too many good players and do not have to stick him on the wing anymore because of this. Matt Bowen will continue in his bench role, while Karmichael Hunt will have too wait...

Who will be the Test Halfback?

Brett Kimmorley will most likely be the test halfback, given his role in Australia's Tri-nations victory last year. As I said before, there are still 3 rounds after this one to determine who is the most in-form halfback. You never know, Andrew Johns might play a couple of blinders in the...

A GREAT Article From Ricky Stuart

I really think it is a good idea to bring in a combined Pacific Islands team which could challenge NZ in an annual SOO type event, and perhaps become the 4th competitive nation on the international stage. I too grew up in an area with quite a few polynesians, and yet while all were either...

    Roosters v Broncos **Spoiler**

The Broncos, on tonights performance, look like thy are turning into that great force they once were in the early 90s. Their attacking play was just brilliant, while their forwards have adapted to the modern era and are not just the predictable battering rams they once were. Though all...

    Gould at it again...

I think Channel 9 need to make a few changes. Firstly, I used to like Phil Gould and still consider him one of the most knowledgable people in the game, but its time for him to go. Pre-game he was basically predicting that the Roosters would kill the poor old Broncos and that they were fired...
