Moylan from FB to 6 was the big thing back then.I cant recall who our halves options were back then. I do remember universal frustration that Bryce or Peachy were being played at 6 though.

He had thankfully been replaced by Wallace & Soward by then.Luke Walsh?
Yeah, that would have been around the time. I think Wal and Soward were first choice at that stage, but a combo of Wal going to 9 and both being injured regularly forced the moves.Moylan from FB to 6 was the big thing back then.
We started 2008 with Frank Pritchard and Joe Williams as halves, Walsh came in 2009 Blair and a cast of thousands played 5/8th and then came the Walsh/Burns era. 2014 started the Wallace/Soward era and ended mid 2016with Cleary turning up he played a number of games with TMM. 2018 started the Cleary/Maloney period.I cant recall who our halves options were back then. I'd almost forgotten how bad the Elliott years were. The fall from 2003 & 4 was rapid and horrible. 2018 started the Cleary/Maloney period.

Yeah, we are in uncharted territory right now as a club. We are usually halfway down the cliff by now and picking up steam.2005 & 2006 were such disappointing years.
The premiership spine and no finals.
It's why I'm so quick to panic after a few bad games. Historically the team goes to shit after winning a comp.

What was wrong with Soward/Cleary?
Soward didn't look cooked that year, just past his best. And putting Cleary next to an experienced half is all we did two years later with Maloney.
Yeah, I recall you being vocal about it at the time. Back when there was only a dozen or so regulars here. It's good now we have so many posters with different points of view.I too shared it but 90% of my frustration at the time was at Gus, Things like that was the cause
This is humorous nearly a decade later. Segs went to shit and Api won two comps with us. Who had that on their bingo card?
