Heard a whisper the decision is pretty much made and Cleary / Maloney will be rested.

If Peachy backs up we could be looking at 1 Luai 6 Peachy 7 May with Luai defending in the fullback role when not in possesion and roving commission when on the attack.

If Peachy doesn't back up Caleb Aekins will debut.
I can’t say I agree with the whispers of starting Peachey. I really think he should come off the bench. That is where he is best suited in our setup. He is not a better centre than Whare or Blake. Nor is he a better backrower, five eight of fullback than our most recent 17. But he is one of the first 5 players picked in our 17 at 14. Versatility sometimes can be detrimental. Look at Johnny Plath and particularly Dean Widders, Peach is in the same mould - a game breaker but with no set position.

I'd like to have a look at Atkins. Give the Peach a rest.

I kinda want to see Peach off the bench at hooker. (assuming there's no injuries and has to play 75 minutes of Origin). He seems like he plays his best footy when he's getting his hands on the ball a lot. He hit some some of the best form of his career at 6, won that match for us against Souths at lock. A lot of times when he's been in the middle he's brocken a game open with a try with nothing on, he seems to do it less at centre although he scores more they're from overlaps that anyone could do. While I rate Egan and think he hasn't put a foot wrong he hasn't even played a year of reserve grade yet and Peach just makes stuff happen for us more often when he's getting his hands on the ball.

Sione Katoa is a hooker that's more likely to set up tries so Peach coming on, who's more likely to score them (like Egan) maintains that balance that complement each other. Peach has dodgy defense when he's moving to the side and gets palmed off (which happens on the edge), in hooker it's more guys running straight at you, which he seemed better to handle technique wise. Peach has been training hooker under Danny Buderus in Origin camp so he's probably better there than last time he played at 9. I'd like to see how he goes there.

Damn, I was hoping the Whare to fullback experience was never happening again.

Did you watch the whole of training. I was thinking perhaps Atkins would come into F/B, keep centres same as defence worked really well last weekend. By putting Peachey in centre you're actually weakening the spot.

I suppose tomorrow avo all will be revealed.

It was in an NRL.com article that said Whare trained at fullback with the side.

I'd like to see Peach on the bench, replacing Fish after 25-30. Have him roaming in the middle.

Peach to 5/8 or centre feels like we're taking a step backwards. Assuming Cleary and Jimmy rested, spine will be young and inexperienced we should be trying to keep things simple for them rather than makeshift FB and/or 5/8. I also worry about our right side defence if Whare goes to FB.

I think it should be:
1. Aekins
6. May
7. Luai
9. Katoa
14. Peach (Egan or CHN out)

Whare is not the option I wanted but I get why he will be picked .... in theory.
The less we shuffle the team the better it will perform, if peachy plays in the centres whare isn’t needed in the team so is available for fullback.
I don’t like the idea of peachy playing in the middle against the Cronulla pack unless it’s at the back end of the match.
If we are any hope of winning we need to dominate the middle and peachy isn’t the man for that job.
Cronulla really exploit quick play the balls, we need to slow them and shut down the offloads this week.

I reckon even if Peachey got injured Whare would still shift to FB and CHN would go to the centres. Really hope I'm wrong.
